Swouncing

let me commiserate: the movie isn't opening in Greece either.

Oh, Raquel! A sister-Buffista in trouble and Serenity-less-ness. You, however, have a Mal of your own at home, and even not a fictional one. So I still get to be the whiniest.

a pre-packaged dessert, the brand of which is "MORFAT."

Hee.

We may have to charter a flight to get all of us from the Med and MidEast to the nearest theater showing "Serenity." Or, you know, acquire bootlegs.

Off to make dinner and amuse the non-fictional Mal.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Is the War of the Ring game at all like the old SPI one?

I still own the old SPI game. I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

I am starting to get suspicous about TV series which are abruptly ended and then come out on DVD with additional episodes. It is starting to feel like a marketing pattern

Maybe I need to get a thicker tinfoil for my hat.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

This may in fact be the definition of "perfect weekend." Is the War of the Ring game at all like the old SPI one?

I don't know the old SPI one, but I think they're fairly different, from the reviews.

Gah! I just found out we're having a dinner party for 35 people next Thursday. I have 12 dinner plates. Unless I break out the china, but it's supposed to be a casual buffet thing. The DH has promised New Mexican food to people, and I just don't see serving green chile off of china.

Gah. At least I have a week to prepare. Can you make salsa fresca without cilantro?

I still own the old SPI game. I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

I remember getting my butt kicked at it a lot.

(ETA: probably because I almost always played Sauron...but this was one of the few "little cardboard squares" games that I would voluntarily play)

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm another who played the old SPI game back in the day.

What is even happening?

Use the china. It never gets used. It's good for it to get used.

True. The last time it was used was, um, 1995? Crikey. I guess I will be breaking out the china and silver, as otherwise it's paper and plastic, and I don't think paper plates will stand up to the food. I hope it doesn't make the guests uncomfortable.

Our wings are not tired.

I can't imagine uncomfortable guests with Raquel as host. China will be lovely.
