That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Someone is burning crosses and leaving Klan literature about in my town.

Ew. Just ew. What the hell is wrong with people?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Grrr.

I just got seriously reprimanded at work because "at least two or three times per week I have been observed having a non-work conversation for a few moments, and I am the only one who does this"

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Aimee, you should report that to your local postmaster. It's hate speech, and it's a crime. Take it to him/her with the envelope.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Sophia, what the hell? Are you supposed to be a robot?

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

It's probably just some idiots from Raleigh burning those crosses, Calli, but that's odd, anyway.

I don't know if you've read about the 1979 Greensboro Massacre. I wrote a paper on it in grad school and talked with several of the survivors. Here's a link to a more credible source: [link] It's an absolutely crazy story: the Greensboro police apparently allowed carloads of Klansmen -- many of whom, including their leader, were FBI snitches -- to open fire on a Communist Workers Party rally, leaving five people dead.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jesus. Between you and Aimee, I'm getting kind of creeped out myself.

Also, the world can stop picking on Sophia for a little while, 'k?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

"at least two or three times per week I have been observed having a non-work conversation for a few moments, and I am the only one who does this"

If you're the only one who does it, who are they seeing you having the conversations with?

The carbon monoxide detector here just started chirping and flashing. I looked at the chart on the back, and chirping means a malfunction, while steady alarm means CO. I plugged it into a different outlet, but opened some windows just in case.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Regarding last night's Alias, I really want to make "My name's not Michael Vaughn. It's Keyser Soze." my new tag. But would that be too much of a spoiler?

§ ita § - May 26, 2005 6:38:36 am PDT #7153 of 10001
Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sophia, who are you having these conversations with? The wall? How can you be the only one.

Not that it's a rational reprimand, anyway.

DXMachina - May 26, 2005 6:40:14 am PDT #7154 of 10001
You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sophia, does your school have a clerical workers union? Are you in it? If so, that would be worth taking up with your union rep.
