On a similar subject, Debet and I were discussing the fact that very few women seem to win Darwin awards, and wondered if this was an indication that they are generally smarter than men when it comes to stuff like this, or just being ignored by the people who give out the awards.
There are evolutionary psychologists who claim that there will always be more Darwin award winners who are male, but that there will also always be more Nobel prize winners who are male. The claim is that the same single-minded indifference to convention is necessary in both cases, but it's a matter of how single-mindedness interacts with competence. Nature can afford the bargain, they say, because the loss of a few idiot males will not reduce the overall reproductive capacity of the species. On the other hand, every idiot woman who blows herself up would have an impact on reproduction, so the system will be set up to keep the number of idiot women to a minimum.

Thanks so much, everyone! I'm really excited about this.
So, now that you have a job, you're buying tonight, right?

Bwhahahahahahahahahahaha!
Actually, I wish I could...with everything everyone has done for me over the past few years. Unfortunately, they don't pay ahead of time...
The most I can get is 15 out of 20 on that damn thing. DAMN YOU JESSE!
Congrats, vw!!
Oh, and a word of warning to anyone driving in Illinois this Memorial Day weekend--they're doing a statewide crackdown on seatbelt wearing (especially on rural roads), so make sure you buckle up! Don't know if that involves random stops or just visual drive-by checking by the cops, so in case they do have you pull over, make sure your registration, insurance, et al is up-to-date.
I got it to 18 out of 20, but to get those last two right would mean I'd have to change a bunch of others. AHHHHHHH!

I was working on that thing last week or so and that was exactly the problem I kept hitting.

Giant robots will be picking up cars at random and turning them upside-down. If someone falls out of their seat and lands on the car's ceiling, they get a ticket.
