Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

big enough for a sofa is enough space for anyone.

Especially now that you can hang TVs on the wall.

one room is a GREAT room, and it has areas AND a view.

I'm sure it is. Especially the bon. But you are also the woman who was positively ecstatic over.... storage space.

Pbbt.

My 700sqft apartment desperately needs to be cleaned and has too much stuff.

CRAZY LADY.

I'm actually being quite entertained by the basketball player's blog. And I don't give a crap about basketball.

But I really should be working.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

My wee 400 sq ft apartment is SO CUTE!

I have a wee 480 sq ft apt. that is actually a one bedroom. Bedroom, living room, kitchen, eating nook. It's cute and sufficient for one person and a cat. I do wish I had a bigger kitchen, tho.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Feldman found that women were more likely to lie to make the stranger feel good, whereas men lied most often to make themselves look better

I wonder how much "more" and "most" really translate to.

Of course Feldman didn't really find this. He found that, when interviewed by a guy in a white coat, men admitted to lying to make themeselves look better while women said that they lied only to make the stranger feel good. What the subjects really did is anyone's guess. It's stunning how the authors never considered that the subjects might be even more likely to lie to them than they were to lie to the strangers.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I lie to make myself look good all the time. I'm lying right now, AIFG!!

Speaking of irritating reductionism in gender studies, there's another editorial in the Times today (this time by cranky rightwinger John Tierney) entitled "What Women Want." When will people learn that having an avowed male entitle an article "What Women Want" is a guarantee that a cadre of women will line up to kick him in the pants??

Men. So thoughtless.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Is that how the conclusion was reached? I assumed he had the subjects point out their lies on the videotape, noted what they were, and tallied up the results. But I'm not familiar with the study other than what's mentioned in the article.

No, they did. It's mentioned in the article.

“The headphones were made from two separate pieces of pine on the wood turning lathe I then screwed the two together and countersunk the screws,” Burrows explained. “I would also have added the wheel and made the other two legs USB connectors if I had more time. Also I would have loved to implement some forum users ideas of ‘adding a Mac mini and flat screen’ to make it function as a giant iPod. But who knows, in the future with the correct funding I may make a wall mounted jukebox in the shape of an iPod in the way they mentioned.”
