Right, what's a little sweater sniffing between sworn enemies?

I can't believe that he kept his seat. And how tough is Afleet Alex? An excellent race.

I wonder what Scrappy T shied at. . .

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

unattractive schadenfreudian side to me that was rooting against him in the Derby because of all the schmaltzy sentimental buildup, but ...

People who use "schadenfreudian" correctly in a sentence need to be watching something other than whatever they were watching.

Art Crawl!!!

amych, perhaps if he hadn't almost fallen you would have felt less like rooting for him.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

amych, perhaps if he hadn't almost fallen you would have felt less like rooting for him.

Maybe. I think it's more that the almost-falling-recovering-winning-the-race trope is one where the drama is about the actual race and not the human-interest story. Because I'm a massive sucker for the sports drama, yo.

There was a big write up in the Sun a couple days ago about jockeys, um, jockeying over which horses they got to ride. I *think* it was AA's jockey who came very close to not getting to ride him for these races. Or it could have been a different horse. But ANYWAY, if it was him, I'll bet his owner is really happy he kept the original jockey.

And that sums up what I know about Preakness. Oh. Hats. Black eyed susans. Avoid Pimlico as if your life depended on it. Stay out of traffic patterns followed by drunk people from the infield. Blimp.

Ok, THAT sums it up.

I went out and got 2 black summerweight sweaters. Everyone keel over in shock at my color choices.

Doing laundry (I moved stuff off the top of the washer AND out of the washer. ) Eating steak.

Had a nasty dream Mister Kitty died from sugar shock. It has made me really freaking paranoid. I keep waking up the poor lazy beast, poking him to make sure he isn't in a coma. Considering he isn't a cat who wakes quickly, he gets shook too. First cat I've ever had that actually gets bedhead. It is funny.

I really need to tackle clutter but I just don't want to. Maybe tomorrow. I need a serious spring cleaning and hopefully my parents' visit will kick that into gear.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I am back from the Faerie Festival. I have glitter on my chest.(courtesy of a drive-by faerie blessing, I think.) The weather was lovely and things went well. Yay.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Also, there's a really unattractive schadenfreudian side to me that was rooting against him in the Derby because of all the schmaltzy sentimental buildup, but that's still really happy to hear this. Psychoanalyze at your own risk.

Well, I'm kind of with you on this. I'm dead sick of the Human Interest Horses, almost as sick as I am of the Blue Blooded Next Big Thing.

However, I have the race fan version of a bulletproof kink when they almost go down and still come back to win. See: Alysheba.

Actually, it basically extends to any horse able to overcome hideous racing luck, even if they don't win in that race. Artax (aka, the horse that guy punched at Pimlico) is a key example. That he managed to survive that without injury or mental trauma made me root for him.

And I think I loved A.P. Indy because he had a bad habit of very bad starts indeed, yet often won despite them. Even if he was a prime example of BBNBT.

Also, I like years where there's no Triple pressure.

Always Anti-fascist!

Mostly, Gus, I'd say Bitches gets more intimate.

What is even happening?

Yeah. In Natter, we'll talk about anything. In Bitches, we talk about everything. I think I go to the Natter thread for the talk, and to the Bitches thread for the people. I don't know. Each time I try to differentiate it in my head it wants to come out something like the difference is clear, and I know it when I see it. Like P-C said, you're in Natter, now.
