The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm sure I did, but I remember about 3 videos from the 80s. And they have Prince in them

I don't remember a *lot* of the video (because it always made me cry), but I'm pretty sure shots of a couple dancing in a desolate landscape (and/or as the outside world was being destroyed) were in it. I'm sure the video is floating around on the Web somewhere, but I'm not going to go look for it and start crying at work.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH just emailed me to say that FedEx has delivered my new computer.

That means I get to fake a heart attack and go home early, right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Isn't it almost time to go, Jess?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That means I get to fake a heart attack and go home early, right?

And, with a heart attack, you can just take the long weekend.

People will want to visit you. Fake a stomach ailment -- they'll leave you alone with your new computer.

Heart attack to leave, then call in and say it was digestive.

It's only 5 here, and I don't get off work until 6.

That's a WHOLE EXTRA HOUR I could be at home setting up my lovely new G5.

And, with a heart attack, you can just take the long weekend.

See? It's a totally foolproof plan.

Oh, that's a good point.]

What is even happening?

-t has the right mix, I think.

And Jessica, if you're still logged on and at work, I'm thinking you're an imposter.

Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, and 1999?

Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry, and 1999?

Good bet. I didn't have MTV until the early 90s, so if it wasn't on Top Of The Pops, I didn't see it. And if it wasn't solidly top ten, I didn't see it twice.

I'm glad (sad) to see I was right in my suspicions. Man, the Brits were such downers in the 80s. What up with that?
