I made it to the post office this afternoon. It took me 45 minutes to mail 3 packages. I forgot that it was passport season. Grr. Next time I bring my own packaging and use the automated doohickey.

Now the nuclear option part of it is interesting. The phase was coined by Trent Lott, used by Bill Frist, but recently the republicans have tried to move away from that phase and accuse Democrats of calling it the nuclear option.

The "nuclear option" also refers to the *way* in which the republicans are planning to remove the filibuster. Instead of putting it forward as a rule change, which would require a 2/3rds majority, they'll get Cheney to declare the filibuster unconstitutional and then "uphold" his ruling, which only requires 51 votes.
