I like getting the writers' take on it all. And their relief that they've been picked up.
This made me laugh.
"And writers aren't usually known for their personalities," adds Schmir. "My husband is a writer, all my friends are writers, so spring is usually … difficult."
It was a good article. I'm realizing I like working in mostly female environments, or at least at all girl's schools, better than mostly male dominated enviornments.
t massive generalisation
In predominantly female environments, someone or ones wants me to be their BFF. In male environments, I get to be the buddy.

No prize for guessing which one
I
prefer.
HA! That's one way of looking at it. But in the male dominated environments I have experienced(like the high school of my school) only 4 men talk during meetings and they are the only ones who get heard in decisions. In the elementary school here (all female) they use consensus (which is irritating to me personally) to make deicisons and it's harder but the workers are happier.
I'm so sad. Jack and Bobby is gone.
Yerpa. Sad making. No more cute wee Jack.
different search engines do things differently
Who knew?
Aside from all the brilliant academic and technologically adept folks on b.org, um, all us librarians!!
Every now and then, I get the urge to act superior. I am usually pretty quickly reminded how not, but honestly, it's fun for a few minutes there.
Sniff. Sniff.
I'm assuming someone posted it in the 200 messages above I skipped?
Probably - I also read it on another board.
I think expensive is associated with high-class. Not equated.
And some of this is location and culture (subculture) dependent, I think. Some of the rattiest looking Yankees (in the New England sense, particularly Mainers) you'll ever see, are filthy rich, and live a spartan life.
