the Roxie is in bad financial trouble.
aw that sucks. That is one of my favorite places in my old neighborhood. One of my old roommates worked there for a while.
sarameg, congrats on the house buying baby steps!! I was thinking of you when I drove by Poly on Saturday and saw the full parking lot. I was lucky enough to do the Trolley Tour right after I found out the house I now own was available. I was able to get the contract & settle in time to get the grant. It was a HUGE help for me.
Hec! Happy second-day-of-the-second-year-of-your-marriage!
Thank you, Nilly. EM took Emmett last night (despite it being my weekend), so JZ and I could go do a sauna and hot tub together to celebrate. Then we had delicious Italian food.
Hard to believe that was a year ago - so much has happened.
I didn't know you had gotten one of the grants, lisah! That's cool.
I must say, the whole first anniversary=paper anniversary thing? Lame. My advice to all Buffistae planning their weddings or looking ahead to the first anniversary is to say paper, pfft. As of now, the first anniversary is officially the water anniversary. Possibly the water and Italian food anniversary. I'm still feeling all pleasantly rubbery and boneless from the steam and the hot tub and the prosecco.
The water anniversary. Make it happen. You won't be sorry.
JZ! A very pleasant second-day-of-your-second-year-of-marriage to you, as well!
Nilly!
At brunch yesterday, Sparky was wearing her NillyTour '04 shirt, and it made me all misty.
Nilly, well, it was an online chat on HBO's message board, promoting the Wire, which was on the verge of being canceled. He'd just killed a major character and the fans were freaked. I thanked him for the HSQ, and requested that I should be allowed to write McNulty's death, should they ever need it, at the hands of some woman or her husband, that I would both cry and laugh while writing it. I like to pretend he went into HBO armed with the new concept off the internets, and completely knocked their socks off, but I am vain that way.
Probably nsm of a story if you are not a blathering fangirl, but at least I didn't run him over with my chair or anything.
Aw, JZ, I'm thinking most of The Good Ones are taken, nowadays, but thanks for the tip.
The water anniversary. Make it happen. You won't be sorry.
Heh. I do believe that our water anniversary coincides with the beginning of rehearsals for Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical. We'll get a honeymoon one of these days.....
There are definitely good ones available out there, erika. Probably
