Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Nilly! So good to see you here. Has anybody mentioned, or posted a link to, the Serenity trailer? Just...you know, for taunty purposes?

Cute Annabel photo!

And it's Eddie's birthday? Felicitations, Eddie!

Chametz cereal:

I consider Friends a fantasy show as well, considering the size of the apartments these people inhabit.

Hee. I'm really enjoying "Gilmore Girls" (my friend T lends me her tapes - she's trying to tv-educate me. She's also lending me "The West Wing"). It's fun and witty. I just want to make that clear.

Betsy has meanwhile fallen hard for Farscape, and that's been fun to watch. Even her kids like it! Heh.

I really should take a peak at the relevant thread, shouldn't I? Of course, you do realize that if I do fall in love, I'll immediately start whining, because the tapes I got only have the first season, right? (some of the rest, at least seasons 2 and 3, were shown in Israel at some point, I'm pretty sure. Only, on channels I don't have, so no use for whiney-me).

[Edit: Beverly!

So that's why there are over 500 new posts in the "Firefly" thread? I didn't get a chance to glance there, yet.]

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You're all settled in your new place and your new job by now?

Well, it depends what you mean by settled. I still have about 40 boxes to unpack, and so far no one has figured out how to make the home grown in NY software that I need to do my job actually work in California, but other than that things are really good.

I hope you have a wonderful trip.

Thanks! I expect I will. Now I just have to figure out a way to come visit you in Israel someday...

Perkins, are you going to have a housewarming at some point, so all the locals may descend on you with giftage?

Tell me about the good stuff. Are the people at the new place nice? How are the cats adjusting to the new apartment? Isn't it somehow better to do things gradually, both unpacking and starting-to-get-to-work-wise?

Now I just have to figure out a way to come visit you in Israel someday...

Yes, this. Israel is gorgeous, it's worth the visit (even if it wasn't for meMeME!) I hope I'll get to see Hil when she's here in June, too.

I've been thinking about it, but I suspect it will be at least a month before the apartment or I are in any shape for that. What does your end of May look like?

Nilly, All the people I work with are really nice, and once we get the software stuff worked out, which people are working on, I think the job will be really good. I love where my apartment is located, and my view, and I like the apartment itself. I think once I get stuff unpacked it will be very homey. The cats are still a little upset, but they are getting much better.

Katie and Vonnie are going to be here at the end of May, over Memorial Day weekend. yay!

Perkins, I'm glad you're settling in well. A good view is a lovely thing. How often have you moved with the cats before? I'm sure they'll be fine before long.

My housemate is moving out at the end of July (sob!), and she's trying to figure out the best way to move herself and her three cats halfway across the country. I do not envy her this task.

OOh, fun.

Maybe the first weekend in June for a housewarming then.

Thanks Kate (and hey, did you finally get the tapes?). I've moved Perkins from Maine to LA before, but not Ozzie. Is your friend thinking of driving or flying with the cats?
