Yeah, I'm a little unclear on "stew" as well.
What Happens in Natter 35 Stays in Natter 35
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Crib is old -- I know I just read it in a story about gold-rush era Alaska.
Stew is old, too; I think it's in Shakespeare.
I find crib somewhat disturbing.
It makes me want to say "Pimp my crib" which would be oddly appropriate.
I think this board would make an interesting sociology study
Not much more then any other boards, I don't think. That above discussion happens on web sites, USENET, mailing lists -- it's the nature of the beast. We're so unspecial.
One of the things I really enjoy at this point is observing a community, where I used to be super active, but now I lurk except for a very small private thread.
In observing, I see that the same people have the same arguments on repeat. Some of the scandals change, otherwise it's all groundhog day.
Nature of the beast, I'd assume.
edited for clarity.
I've been on four boards, I've seen this sort of thing on two of them. It happens, it doesn't. IMHO, it's neither unique nor universal.
discuss/acknowledge/alter behavior that has been upsetting enough to drive numerous good folks from the board.
What IS this behavior, Trudy? I asked before in B'cy and I am not trying to be flip, I actually want to know. I can't see anything more than people disagreeing with each other and voicing their opinions. T Being disagreed with in the articulate way ita or Allyson or you do it can be sometimes uncomfortable (I know it is for me) but that's what happens with open conversation. You don't have to derail Netter to explain--I'll toddle over to B'cy if you want to spell things out. If not, I'll have to remain inthe dark.
Also, speaking as a person who mostly grew up in Reston, Va., pbbbt to Columbia. RESTON is the planniest planned community that was ever planned, and anyone who lives there will tell you so!
Anyone watch the Enterprise finale tonight?
Some discussion over in Boxed Set, JS. (I haven't yet; it's on tape)
