Hiya everyone!
Robin, your tales of shopping from upthread reminded me that I bought these AWESOME fancy high-heeled black satiny maryjane-ish shoes this weekend that I am in LOVE with. I'm trying to decide if I can justify bringing them with me to Germany. They're not good for walking long distances, and I'm going to be doing a lot of exploring, is the thing. But they're so pretty! AND they were only $25 at a sweet little vintage store in town that I'd never been into before. I love them so.
Jesse, sounds like you are imitating my dog.
Heh. Not really, though...
Nothing wakes you up faster than that gagging sound. Well, maybe the mousie dance.
This morning, the garbage trucks tried to wake me up at 6:15 but it didn't work. I knew I should have shut the window last night. I was getting sleepily homicidal because they just.kept.banging the dumpster lids.
Hello, all. It is so Monday I can't see straight.
All weekend long, my house had no heat and it did not top 50d outside. So I spent the whole weekend camped out in front of the space heater, which was in front of the television. Or else baking things. Or going to other buildings (e.g. the laundromat) which
were
heated.
(My house has no heat because the landlord is allowed to turn it off after a certain date, if he pays for it himself, which he does. I don't know what people do during summers like the one after Krakatoa blew, when it snowed in Boston in July. I mean, not that they had central heating in apartments in the 1880s, but if they did.)
The real question in all this is, WHY is it 45d outside in May?? WTF?? And why did Boston have a hurricane this weekend?
What's your calendar like?
The semester ends at the end of June. But this week is the Israeli Independence Day, so a long weekend, which is of the fun and good.
It makes me smile back.
Yay! You have a very lovely smile!
msbelle, I can't remember - have you finished with all the re-doing of your apartment?
Gud! I like the combinations of 2s and 3s the best, stuff like 8 and 9 and 6, because it seems like nothing connects 8 and 9, with one being so even and the other all odd, if that makes any sense, and suddenly they're so similar. OK, maybe it's just me, then.
[Edit: and 2+4=0+6, and, well, 6 is perfect. But no number can take the place of 17]
Cleary I need new shoes.
I wil have to be satisfied with my BIG ASS check from my refinance payout and the newly arranged living room of homey goodness that awaits me at the end of the day.
Nilly, I have loads to still do on my apartment (fix water damage #2 in kitchen, strip and repaint entry, strip bathroom fixtures, sand and stain coffee table and bookshelves....). eventually it will get redone. I have a plan.
Clearly everyone needs new shoes!
My weekend wasn't terribly exciting otherwise. Like Nutty, I spent a lot of time huddled under blankets in my apartment. As I was shivering my way through putting gas in the car this morning, I thought to myself, "When you wish you had worn your scarf and heavy coat in MAY, it's too cold."
Re: that storyline in
Grey's Anatomy:
Jake and Bobby had a non-whore abortion. . . quickly followed by the character's death.
So, really not an improvement.
