Family Tree Maker. The interface is really intuitive. It's simple to put in the basic stuff, and once you get to know the program a bit better there are ways to put in practically any information.

However, Family Tree Maker's distributor has the fun habit of asking for copies of your genealogy so they can put it in their main database which is only available by subscripton. If you object to doing the work for free so someone else can sell it, then you might want to check other packages. I use Family Origins from FormalSoft (I'm a recovering genealogy fiend who's been feeling the itch, but between fic and dead relatives, I generally choose fic for my spare time. Dead relatives don't have hot sex. And if they do I don't want to know.)
