Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Swankified! We don't have a photocopier -- we have scribes who copy each document out on parchment or animal skin by poking a quill into their fingertip and writing in their own blood.

Nobody really wants the copies. I can't imagine why;.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Who is(are) the Buffista(s) in Minneapolis? The Buffista Map link is busted....

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

AFAIK, the only one still active is Juliana, and Daniel lives somewhere in the vicinity.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Who is(are) the Buffista(s) in Minneapolis?

Yo. Bridget was a long-time lurker, but I think she's in San Fran now. Daniel is about an hour away from me.

There was also Knut, who moved to Chicago, and Jean A, neither of whom has posted in yonks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sweetie, I can tell you've looked at the spam faxes in our shared inbox. Why did you decide against deleting them? Most of them are offering shady versions of what our company does for a living.

Oops. I hope you weren't holding on to them. They're gone now.

I think Jean A went to library school in IL. Maybe.

Anyhoo. What's up, tommyrot? Are you visiting my fair city?

What is even happening?

Hasn't it only been one yonk since Knut posted?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

He popped up around the time Hec was in town. On the board and in person.
