When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Oh great, now I'm ear-wormed with the Talking Heads' song "Burning Down the House". Thanks Jesse.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Whoa, ita. Are you ok? I hope you didn't hit anything on the way down.

Oh wow, ita! You mean like just *poof* you were out? Maybe you should see someone soon, 'cause that's just not right.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I caught myself halfway down (which was good, since I was falling by the edge of the bed), but wasn't aware of the second half of the fall.

My neck hurts, but my head feels clear, which definitely didn't happen last time I fainted, lo these 10 years ago.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Meep. That's scary, ita. Does this mean no going to work?

I'm gonna keep going like I was going to work, and see how it feels just before I get into the car. I don't think I'm more at risk of passing out again, or anything, but I want to be sure my head's clear before I control the ton of metal called Jetta.

That would definitely be my suggestion.

Our wings are not tired.

Yikes ita! Did you stand up quickly? Back many years ago I used to faint and that was an issue with low blood pressure.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Eek, ita! I would maybe not drive a car today.

Reward yourself with stuff not on your list for your big things.

I'm afraid I'm going to do that already. OK, will do one little thing right now, then get cracking on the really big thing...

I don't remember. I'm not sure what I was doing just before it happened, honestly.
