Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ION, I woke up to a press conference about a bomb in midtown. NOT a good time. Of course, it turns out not to have been a big deal, but so why was WNYC airing this whole stupid press conference live? Totally harshed my waking-up vibe. (I have figured out the Thing To Do when using public radio as the alarm: Set it for five minutes before the hour, so you wake up to good news.)

hip deep in pie

I was at the Bay (big national Candian dept. store) last night, and they had some products by the company that makes the person knife holder (But sadly, not the holder.) But I was very tempted by this: [link] and this: [link]

What is even happening?

today is 05/05/05. Freaky!

Oooh. I love dates like that. My own birthdate 3/4/67 is a horrific near-miss sort of disappointment.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, if only you'd been born on March 45th, 1967.

(sorry.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not like you're not up, ita....

But not stylishly dressed. I will request the time off. I've really not seen this cousin enough (she was working part time as well as cramming enough classes in to finish a year early) and much of her family's coming into town for it.

But no pretty pink dress! I'd be too chilly anyway. So someone in Southern California needs to have a summer daytime wedding, and stat.

Cinco de Mayo

Cool. 5/5/5 Cinco de Mayo day. Maybe not as cool as next year's 6/6/6 Mark of the Beast day, but cool nonetheless.

ION, I designed the engine pods for the backyard spaceship. [link]

Two side and the front are omitted so I can see the structure better. I still need to decide if the pods should be blue, pink, two-tone blue and pink, and if I should mount guns in them.

if I should mount guns in them.

There's even a question? Of course you put guns in them! Pink, with guns in them.

Ooh, you could have a control stick with a trigger on it, and when you pull the trigger the guns can make the Star Wars blaster sound....

And then you could have a hologram projector above the instrument panel, so you could project a tiny holographic image of yourself when it's time to call the kids in for dinner.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Of course, it turns out not to have been a big deal, but so why was WNYC airing this whole stupid press conference live?

I appreciated it, because I work three blocks from there and wanted to know how much of the area was going to be blocked off, but dude, a glass door and a flowerpot got 'sploded by a fake grenade in an area with a zillion cameras at 3 in the morning, and nobody was hurt. This was quite possibly the lamest act of terrorism in NYC history.
