"You might love books now, but you would've slagged Gutenberg to his face."
Hee.
Dawn ,'Beneath You'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I get upset sometimes because my dream was to write for television so I feel like somebody says my friend is ugly.
TiVo helps with this. ijs. Something you wanted to watch is usually waiting for you.Because I don't like a lot, my TiVo is actually quite useful, in this regard. I can program stuff ahead of time, and forget about it, as long as Chris isn't getting too far into the menu. He has deleted stuff on occasion. I also save stuff and rewatch what I like. I was going to save all of JoA S2, but I didn't. I have a handful of episodes.
sobs
I'm really mad Jennifer Love Hewitt has a new vehicle, "The Ghost Whisperer" on the same network. I'm so mad I want to spit.
I have a friend who'll say to smug no-TV people "Gee, that's a big chunk of the culture to be completely ignorant of."
I love her.
I want Tivo. But right now to actually make it worth owning one I'd need to have a cable package that was more than the $10 cable package I'm getting will buy.
I'm going to give up reading. Have you seen the crap out there? Pulp romance, schlocky sci fi, endless fantasy sagas - oh! and the violence! It's disgusting.

and that's just in The Bible. Those other books are even worse!
There's tons of stuff I'd be Tivoing right now -- Stargate SG1 And A, REscue Me, Mystery! (Which I always forget is on), BSG, Lost, Gilmore Girls, House, American Idol, a bunch of stuff on TCM and Discovery, but I don't have tivo.
If I wanted it bad enough I'm sure that I could find a way to get Tivo and a cable package that I think would make it worth my while.
On the other hand I have 425 dvds on my Netflix queue, most of which are tv shows, so I don't think I'll really be watching fewer tv programs, just not idly sitting there the home shopping network.
Joan of Arcadia got canned
I am astounded by this! And I just got into it over the last couple of episodes, damn it.
And I got into it precisely because I heard such good things about it from someone who shall remain nameless.
Yes, I'm looking at you, Cindy. Hmmmpf.
The one show I was still watching on a regular basis got renewed (Arrested Development), and another show I loved and lost came back from the dead (Family Guy).
This season, I only watched ONE show from start to finish. ONE. And it wasn't even a full season, thanks to Fox. I came dangerously close to having nothing new to watch for the first time in 15 years.
