This doesn't change the fact that I don't get to have this beautiful thing that I've been building up in my mind and looking forward to for ages, but I'm only sad and not angry now.
Undoubtedly it's disappointing not to get Sharpe's Rifle over your desk, especially when you'd invested so much imagination into that reward. But this does sound like one of those situations where the necessary gesture has to come out of your want.
