I thought Owen was the noisiest sleeper in the world. All that snuffling and snorting and moving. So when he did get into deep sleep and went quiet, I immediately would wake up and jump to see if he was still alive. I think it's because their nervous system is still being wired that they are jumpy and thrashy plus, after being in water for 10 months, the air is so much drier--resulting in the congestion.
It gets *better* but never completely goes away. He's been sleeping solidly through the night for almost two months now and I still wake up twice to check on him.
I'm in the Raquel is a HAWT MAMMA corner.
Hec, I'll have hair pictures posted next week, since the digital camera is packed. erika will be in them, too!!
Why am I still here? We decided against leaving late last night. We just couldn't get packed and ready and by the time we did, it was O's bedtime. I just thought that he'd sleep better in his own crib. We're hopefully out of here in another hour or two. First to Indiana to drop off the kid and then catching the plane on Sunday morning.
I've always wanted kids, and I still do. But, having Toto has been a wake-up call for me. If I can love a dog this much and panic this much when something is wrong with him, I can only imagine how I will be when I actually have a child.
Cashmere, have a wonderful trip!
Must. Work. On. Paper.
Cashmere, who's taking care of the baby? How long will you be in Phoenix?
G'morning. Kids arriving in T-5 minutes. I just rushed around like a mad thing trying to get my lessons ready, and I'm a little freaked by the fact that I have progress reports due Tuesday (i.e. I must grade like a fiend between now and then) and since I'm taking a personal day on Thursday, I need to do sub plans and all the prep for that too.
At the moment, however, I am taking the next five minutes to sip my iced latte and pretend there is no stress.

Sounds like a good plan to me!
Huh. I just realized it's Friday the 13th.
So yesterday an employee brought his child in because he'd (the employee) had scheduled a meeting. He brought is child because the boy has pink eye and was kicked out of daycare. His son ran around touching everything and we ran around spraying whatever he touched with Lysol.
However, my supervisor is at home with pink eye. It doesn't look like anyone else has contracted it and we sprayed everything down again. If we don't have any symptoms by now does it mean we don't have it or could there be a chance it could show up later today.

We're spreading around the kid with my sisters and Christopher's parents. That way, nobody gets too sleep deprived or tired. I have a feeling all this upheaval will screw his sleeping through the night well after we return home. We should be back home next Thursday. We fly into Phoenix Sunday afternoon (yay erika visit!) and fly out Wednesday. Collect the kid and drive back home Thursday.
My paper is going to be TOO long. I'm already about half-way through the page-limit, and I've only discussed one study. I have four studies to discuss. We're gonna be cutting machines later.
Too cute: [link]
Sure, it won't fit until 2006, but still!
