But? There's always a but. When this is over, can we have a big 'but' moratorium?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

My neighbor with the 2-year-old assures me the time will come when I'll wonder why I was so anxious for her to talk!

And a hearty "amen" to that.

I think giving them the snuggles they need when they want them makes them more independent later. I could be crazy talking though.

{{{Gud}} I'm so sorry. I wish everyone would just give you a break.

Raquel, so good to see you posting. Could you post the link to your website again? I didn't have time to look when you posted it before.

Sean, sorry for the ickiness. I hope you guys feel better today.

{{sj}} I hope the surgery goes smoothly and quickly and they fix everything all at once.

Aidan's been tired all morning and he doesn't want to eat. I keep putting him down for a nap and then getting him back up when he kicks and screams too much. Getting a little tired of the "fun". He's down again now. Here's hoping he actually goes to sleep.

{{vw}} stamina~ma to you.

The niece who had the corpus colosum stripped is back in the hospital today. She's been throwing up every time she stands, which is supposedly normal but has been going on too long. They're hoping it's something simple.

I love Leif's hug variations. Sometimes he requests a 'smushy' hug, sometimes a 'smashy' hug, and sometimes a 'running' hug.

Mostly lurking...

Deena, do you still want me to call you this afternoon about "the project"? If so, what time?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Deena, how are you feeling?

Now tagless for your comfort.

It's like she's suddenly lost the ability to amuse herself--which luckily for me she developed young--or to go to sleep fairly readily when she needs a nap. And I can't decide whether it's best to coddle her a little, or if that would encourage my heretofore independent little daughter to turn into Clingabel

O did this, too. And is still doing it on occasion. I've learned to just let him throw his little (a minute or less) fits and keep doing whatever it was I needed to do. He then forgets he's mad and goes back to playing. He usually does this when he's with his dad and I'm trying to do laundry, running up and down the stairs. As soon as he sees me, he starts crying. This is the time when they really start to learn that you have things to do, too.

{{{Gud}}} Sorry, hon.

Bills are paid but I'm so not even close to having us packed for our trip. Gah.

That reminds me, I need to do laundry tonight unless my wife does laundry today, which is possible.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Huh.

I really had to take a shower just now, since I have a physical at 1:00, so I stuck Annabel in her exersaucer and turned on PBS. I stayed in the shower for longer than I might've otherwise, just because the quiet was so relaxing. While I was drying off, I heard a giggle, of all things, from the living room.

Kid is still in her exersaucer, watching Sesame Street like it's the best thing on earth. Every time I walk by, she grins and points at the TV as if to say, "Isn't this cool?"

Could it be she was just bored?

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I love Leif's hug variations. Sometimes he requests a 'smushy' hug, sometimes a 'smashy' hug, and sometimes a 'running' hug.

Smushy hugs are my FAVORITE.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I remember when I thought Sesame Street was the coolest thing, so that's not outside the realm of possibility.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

It's nice that you remember yesterday.
