Reynolds, I'm a dangerous-minded man on a ship loaded with hurt. Now, why you got me chatting with your peons?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Phone Companies = teh suck.

When SBC bought out Pac Bell a few years back, anyone who didn't have a long distance carrier on their bill record got automatically enrolled in the most expensive Sprint program available. We're talking 25 cents a second or somesuch. I had AT&T who billed me seperately. Well, SBC overrid or did domething that ran up a huge long distance bill. I refused to pay it and switched all my long distance, local, everything to AT&T.

Some jackass just tried to call me and tell me that not only do I still owe the money (I don't think so) but that they are taking $75 worth of fees onto it and if I don't pay it now, it will rain flesh eating toads in my house and my phone service will be turned off and/or they will make it so that my phone only calls 900 numbers for gay, transsexual dogs in heat. Not that I'd have a problem talking to gay transsexual dogs in heat, but dammit, I will when I want to not because the phone company tells me I have to. But I digress....

I refused to give them my current address and current phone number (note:my phone number hasn't changed. The one they are trying to collect for is the same damn number. Idjits.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Aimée, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau. Or else write a letter to your state's Attorney General, or to a congressperson. That probably won't accomplish anything by itself, but you also should tell the phone company what you did. The idea is to get your complaint escalated beyond the low-level managers who are dealing with it now (and who probably don't have the power to fix it, or have no incentive to fix it) up to a higher-level person who might want to straighten out the problem for you so it will go away.

I worked at a credit card company in SF. Anytime a customer told us that they had contacted some external agency (like the ones I named above) about some issue they had (even if their complaint was totally absurd, like the guy who didn't want any female employees to handle his account) it automatically got escalated to a special department (where I worked) that was the last stop before the mess ended up in court. We managed to fix things to most customers' satisfaction.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Happy Birthday, Stunt Husband!!

Yes, it is #37 today

37 is a good year (so far anyway!). Enjoy it!
