Aside from being sick, it was a pretty good weekend.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
sj, the sun finally came out, here. I hope it's out in your area too, and that you keep feeling better. The sun is shining here today too; I am going to try to forget about the fact that it is supposed to rain tonight. Teacup Guy and I had a great evening together, and I am feeling much better today.
I thought the same thing as ita. I saw enough clothing, signs, accessories (like Kaylee's parasol in the pilot) to get the idea that Chinese culture was predominant in this 'verse. Swearing in Chinese just fit with all that.
Agreed. I thought the Chinese stuff added some interesting elements too the show, and I like how certain things in ME shows are not overexplained to the audience as is common in much of prime time television. The writers seem to trust that the audience can figure it out on their own. Plus the use of the Chinese language is a creative way for the characters to swear and still get past the censors.
if they had more than 13 shows to air they would've addressed it more directly
This too.
Yay for the good weekend, Gud!
I'm holding my breath because Owen has gone two whole nights without waking up. At. All. 10 hours straight. This is after four nights of letting him cry when he does wake up. He goes to bed at nine and if I make myself go to bed by 12, I get 7 hours of blissful sleep.
Of course, by typing this, I will break whatever spell he's under and he'll wake up twice tonight.
Since he's napping now and I've had plenty of sleep I'm trying to decide, shower or read?
I have to go home now. t /Pouty.
Don't wanna. G surprised me with tickets to Wicked for last night, and it was so good I want to hide in the back of the theater and see it over and over again.
Any Chicagoans know A) About how much time I should give myself to get the El from Diversey to Midway or, B) How early I should be to Midway?
Aside from being sick, it was a pretty good weekend.
picky, picky, picky

Chatty!co-worker burned the soundtrack for me last week, and I started listening to it yesterday -- I get the basic premise, but not the specifics. Like, does Elphaba really start out as good/wanting to be good? That's what it sounds like from "The Wizard and I," but I may be misunderstanding.
Also, Mondays suck. Send more caffeine.

Quietly celebrating and hoping the trend continues in the long run.
Gud, sorry about the sick, glad it was a good weekend otherwise.
If it were a giant, hollow, concrete brain, I'd say make a mold out of silicone, in sections, with an insert that would keep it about 4-6 inches thick. To make the mold you'd likely have to make the brain out of paper mache (I'm not going to spell that right) first.
Timelies. I have physical therapy today. I don't wanna go. I never wanna go, but I'm always glad I went, so I'll go, but I don't wanna.
Client gave me a list of 633 clients for a merged document. He realized it was too long and some of his clients weren't active, so sent me a new one of 350. He realized after I sent him the 633 letters he wanted. Bleagh.
On the one hand, it's in an excel file, so I don't have to retype them all, I just have to clean them up and remerge. On the other hand, if it's anything like the 633 client file, there's a lot of clean-up. On the right foot, money! The left foot stands alone.
it was a pretty good weekend
Glad to hear it, Gud. May you have many more just like it.
Teacup Guy and I had a great evening together, and I am feeling much better today.
Glad to hear this, also.

Yay! I hope we'll get a full write-up in lj, Lilty.
Morning, Bitches! I'd like to leave work now. It's icky outside and I'd much rather be sitting on my couch with a blankie and my dog instead of at work with computers and stacks of paper.

Plus the use of the Chinese language is a creative way for the characters to swear and still get past the censors. That's how I looked at it, too. There are a lot of Chinese people in the world currently, yo. So I didn't think it odd that in the future, more Chinese would be incorporated into the cultures of non-Asians.
Also? I can't see any obvious French or German influence where I am, but the words are in my vocab.
Still? When something bugs, it bugs, even if it doesn't bug other people.
