Why would we ask such a silly question?
This is the same response I have for people who ask why I keep hockey pucks in the freezer.
'The Message'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hee. Yeah, I never for a moment wondered why--although I did propose shirking, just on principle.
OK, have much work to do. Don't wanna though.
I wanna be done working. I'm so tired of studying for stupid tests. Why can't it be Wednesday afternoon already t /whining
Okay, I guess the sooner i get started, the sooner I'll be done.
Gronk. Subbing today.
Man, I worked at the theatre from 1:30 to 10 pm. It sucked, and I didn't get much sleep, and my brakes are fucked. At least subbing today is easy, and I get done at 2:05, and can take my poor car directly to the garage and get it worked on.
I made through the weekend although I was sick the whole time. Leif composed a new song, "Down, down, down, down, I sing down, Oh Yeah!". Emaryn was my work buddy this weekend as I finished stage three of the backyard spaceship. I cooked, cleaned (though not enough, but it was too nice to be inside), went grocery shopping, fixed my grandfather's computer, and my wife wasn't angry at me the whole weekend.
If you wanted to make a giant brain out of concrete, about 2 feet long in the longest direction, say, how would you go about doing it?
The easiest way would be to carve a mold of a brain in wet sand, but that won't get you very crisp outlines. Another option is to make a model of half a giant brain, probably out of clay, and use it to make a plaster mold. A concrete brain of that size might need reinforcing. I guess you could put in some wire mesh as you go or get a reinforcing additive. You probably want to use something like topping mix that doesn't have gravel in it.

Though I suppose the gravel could represent gronk....
Gud, that sounds like an excellent weekend.
Aside from being sick, it was a pretty good weekend.
sj, the sun finally came out, here. I hope it's out in your area too, and that you keep feeling better. The sun is shining here today too; I am going to try to forget about the fact that it is supposed to rain tonight. Teacup Guy and I had a great evening together, and I am feeling much better today.
I thought the same thing as ita. I saw enough clothing, signs, accessories (like Kaylee's parasol in the pilot) to get the idea that Chinese culture was predominant in this 'verse. Swearing in Chinese just fit with all that.
Agreed. I thought the Chinese stuff added some interesting elements too the show, and I like how certain things in ME shows are not overexplained to the audience as is common in much of prime time television. The writers seem to trust that the audience can figure it out on their own. Plus the use of the Chinese language is a creative way for the characters to swear and still get past the censors.
if they had more than 13 shows to air they would've addressed it more directly
This too.
