Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My college would show a porn movie in the auditorium once a year, I think around April. With the projection equipment they had, it had to be something on film, not video, so it was generally some incredibly cheesy thing from the seventies. In the one they showed my freshman year, the plot was loosely built around Alice in Wonderland.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For the record, no need to go see Muffy The Vampire Layer. It's pretty crap.

Compassionately intolerant

My undergrad school showed 'educational' porn once a year in a class taught by a Methodist minister. Very legit. Very crowded.

My first porn experience was with my much older husband who said I could not judge porn until I saw it. He took me to the (I kid you not) Bijou in Stockton, CA to see a film called 'Champagne.'

The floor was sticky...and there were plenty of raincoats.

Right in the middle, I hear a familiar, and yet unbelievable sound.

Snoring.

The putz feel ASLEEP and left me to fend off the leerers on my own.

God smiled on me and snapped the film a few minutes later. When the houselights came up, I sprinted for the door.

It's weird how, 25 years later, I still remember every frame of that film.

::wonders if 'Champagne' ever managed to win the heart of that construction worker she had her cap set for.::

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Most of my experience with porn has come from clicking on innocuous-looking links that take you to a porn website and somehow are always insanely hard to get away from. This only ever happens at work, so you're left imagining the trouble you'll be in if the boss walks in before you've found a way to make the vile gross disgusting thing DIE DIE DIE.

It's possible this has skewed my image of porn in general.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Y'all are porn wussies. I'm sorry. You might as well be tut-tutting about how you never watch any TV except the Discovery Channel and BBC America.

Y'know, my attitude towards porn is much the same as Sean. And, after Angel finished, almost all the TV I watched in the US was the Discovery Channel (inc. Animal Planet) and BBC America.

Coincidence? You be the judge.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Phew, finally caught up. ::waves:: Timelies!

My, what a pretty baby that Emma is. Too many cute pictures to choose just one. And I'd be more than glad to help with MiL cluesticking. What a (lowercase) bitch she is. Somebody else have a baby, want more baby pics. Or, you know, you guys start taking more pictures, dagnabit.

I like my porn in the written form. Tried the visual stuff with the ex-husband and decided I was pretty much the traditional female, not at all turned on by pictures. Not to say I don't appreciate the aesthetics of nekkid pretty people, but they don't get me hot. It's words that get me in the mood.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

We're watching Wire in the Blood, too. But why is it that Tony Hill is so lickable, and the other characters I've seen Robson Green play are just "enh"?

I really like the dynamic between the Hill and Carol characters. And both the actors do interesting things, make interesting choices for the characters.

A friend loaned us her Second Sight dvds, which we watched just a few weeks ago. Will I be watching the BBCA rebroadcast? Youdamnbetcha.

Thrive to spite them

I got in a bidding war on ebay and pushed past what I really wanted to spend (and should spend) and now I'm kinda hoping to get sniped. Kinda but not really.
