Oh, I miss the days when I could just run the clipper over my head and be done with it. Sigh.
I'm sure Hec will have chimed in moments after this, but I have to agree with him...shave it off! Though I suppose you might break some dykey hearts, that way.
How lucky that she got Joe's metabolism and will grow up instead of out. You and I will envy her lots!
Wow. Kill her a lot.
I should be doing laundry. I really really should. I suppose I still could. I am instead baking a strawberry rhubarb pie. And wondering if the date I made for tomorrow was a really bad idea. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. Phone conversation was muy awkward. This would be why I prefer email. No uncomfortable silences.
I mean, it's not as if I wear spikes to bed or anything.
Uh huh.

Or the (literally) 50 year old pink roses that are so soft I feel like I'm sleeping on warm whipped cream?
I have a bunch of my grandmother's sheets, and they don't remotely match anything but they're sooooo soft and comfy.
There is nothing like much-washed cotton.
My favorite sheets belonged to my great-aunt. They're at least 30 years old.
Aimee, I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.
Your MIL needs to be reminded that you are the mother of her grandchild. And even if she doesn't care about anything else, you do have something to say about how often said grandchild will travel 2000 miles to visit grandma.
I've been trying to think of some charitable interpretation of the remark by Aimee's MIL, but all I can come up with is that she needs to be beaten soundly with a cluestick.

There was snuggling. There was Buffy and Princess Bride and Burns & Allen watching. There was state parkage, and grilling of burgers. There was some other activity, but Dang It! I have to leave something to your imagination.
ETA spelling. And? The waitresses at the Chinese buffet I usually go to by myself grinned and giggled. We must be cute or something.
Aw, giggling waitresses. Nice!
I am so glad windsparrow and Dan had a good time! and I am sorry you have to part. May the parting be brief.
The reading went very well tonight even though it was long (long long long). Still fun was had.
Sparky and her husband came! Yay - thank you for trekking down when I know you are beset with troubles and have other things to do with your evenings. I really appreciated it.
Also, long time ago Buffista, Bridget Striker came by.
And then when we were packing up, a very nice, lovely woman approached me and asked me to sign her book. Then she said, "Actually I'm a lurker who supports you in email." She said she'd been lurking on the boards since back in the TT days, and was in town for the event and decided to swing by. Made my night - thank you, Dee.
A long time ago I said I thought of the long-time lurkers as being like the angels in
Wings of Desire
-- beneficent, invisible witnesses among us. And meeting Dee only confirmed that suspicion.
