You didn't give her mancakes did you, Burrell?
I do, however, think it's funny to hear announcers talk about it without ever directly mentioning the obvious reason the second baseman is writhing on the infield dirt. I think the phrase was, "Now, that didn't hit his glove, did it?"
The classic baseball euphemism for this is "he got his bell rung" - which is a reference to the old metal cups they used to use, and there would be a loud Pling! on shots to the crotch.
Long day here. Had brunch with my ex-minion and caught up. Went to work for an hour. Went shopping for dinner at the Ferry Building and around the neighborhood. Unloaded groceries and ran back to the car, and drove to the East Bay. Baseball practice and then a game from 4:30 to 7:30. Rush back immediately, change my shirt and make dinner for FiL and his GF. Fortunately dinner turned out very well (Salmon broiled with butter and garlic, asparagus with butter lemon sauce, green lentils cooked in mushroom stock).
Tomorrow up at the asscrack of dawn to drive JZ over to her ride so she can be a model patient.
Then
I can take a breather for a couple hours until I go to work again, and then back to the East Bay for another baseball game.

I don't think the "p" sound has made it into her repertoire yet.

Yeah, but once it does? You'd better invest in a peck of pickled peppers.

Grrrrr...I just realized that something I ordered on ebay didn't arrive yet. I kind of need it tomorrow for my presentation in my Mountain Tales class. It's not a huge deal. I had/have a back-up plan to make it instead. But it's going to take more time, which I don't really have today. Oh, well. Just what I've always wanted to do...spend my day making offensive "hillbilly" gag gifts.
I took yesterday for myself. It was kind of nice. I did a lot of crocheting (I'm working on a beautiful lace sleeveless shell for myself), had coffee with J, then went to a movie. Then EllenS came over for dinner, and I taught her how to crochet a bit. All in all, a kind of nice and quiet day. But, now, I have to buckle down and get work done today.
Hmm, I wonder vw, instead of making your own gag gift, you could quickly print out the eBay ad. That way, you could show them both the offensive gift and the offensive text used to sell it.

I'm going to do that as well, so they can see that part of it. It's just, the prof said we could use just the picture, but our grade would be lower without the actual item. And, you know me and my grades :)
It's spring and there is snow on the ground. Snow. S-N-O-W. Feh.
Ick. Poor Cashmere. I have the window open, but only a crack. It's rainy and blah here today, which actually works out ok...maybe I'll get lots done. Although, not as much as I was hoping, more than likely, since I just made afternoon plans. But, it will be good to get out of the house a bit too.
