The thorn is still used in Icelandic, IIRC.
Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Also for an elitist tongue-sticking-out smiley.

Ha! Ha! I have escaped the dungeon of work and am at home! Whee!
I am now editing an article titled (for real) "Acute Coffee Ingestion Does Not Affect LDL Cholesterol". My boss figured I'd be the best person to edit it, being a junkie and all.
Well, good to know.
How do they measure acute coffee ingestion? How many cups in what time period?
And really, wouldn't chronic coffee ingestion be more relevant to study?
I'm going to answer the last question first.

That's what *I* said!

Apparently it's whether a single 6-ounce cup of coffee* will affect fasting plasma lipid profiles, if the patient fasts but has a cup of coffee in the morning before the blood draw.
*(Coffee black, and with nondairy creamer and/or sugar, were all tested.)

You calling me Riley, Beeotch?
I think acute coffee ingestion affects insulin levels though, doesn't it?
Gah. A friend of mine is getting married in the fall and her mother just called to harangue her about her dress "which isn't going to make your waist look as small as you think it is," and her diet in general because "I want to be able to look back at the wedding photos and say how beautiful you were."
Can we get The Minister over here, pronto?
