DH is heading to the corner store

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

DH is heading to the corner store
BWAH! Let me know how it tastes. It looks....interesting.
Beth's DH is awesome!
I should be happy with the chocolate mousse that's on it's way to me (thanks to a boy I met online, in fact) but now I want oreo cookies and strawberries.
You know what it needs? Dark chocolate shavings sprinkled on top.
You know, before I clicked the link, I went to a totally different place with what you were going to do with Oreos and whipped cream.
Everything tastes better with dark chocolate.
Our landlord wants to sell us the house.
We haven't established any details at all--not even a ballpark figure of a price or anything--but he wants to sell us the house.
Which means there's a good chance we get to keep living here, in the city limits, convenient to pretty much everything. With the neighbors we really like. Did I mention we're in the city limits? With nice neighbors? And we have a backyard.
Granted, this will only work financially if he gives us a substantial discount on market value. But we think he might, since we're saving him a lot of hassle. This is a serious fixer-upper on many levels, and we're willing to buy as-is. That should count for something.
So I guess the next step is to figure out what we can pull out of all the 401(k)s and the Bank of Mom and Dad, and then talk to a bank. When we know what we can do, we'll make an offer.
DH is already on the phone with his mom. Hopefully she'll remember she helped BIL and SIL with their down payment....
Woo hoo! Susan, that's wonderful news!
Congrats on the home-owning, Nora and Susan!
Well, congratulations are probably a little premature. For now, we need housema, that he'll actually think the amount of money we end up willing and able to offer him is a good deal!
When DH broached the subject of money with his mother, she said, "The house next door to me is for sale."
Uh....no.
