See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you... you're kissing me. It's okay. I can wait.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You know what would be a great idea for a hotel? If you could request the kind of sheets you wanted. Like, 300-count percale, t-shirt material (my current favorite), flannel (great for winter), or satin (great for man-hos).

I think the Ritz-Carlton offers this. (I know you can request specific pillows, anyway, at least at some locations.)

I'm getting the pig!

Nicole's disposable cameras from this weekend in Cleveland were damaged by the x-ray machines at the airport.

They were in the checked luggage. I wish I'd known that the carry-on x-rays were much less dangerous. Damn.

Lily is beautiful, Plei!

I'm so exhausted. I tried to catch up on sleep last night and instead woke up (an hour after I'd finally fallen asleep) freaked out from the worst nightmare I've ever had. It took about three hours for me to fall asleep again.

This from the girl that LOVES horror movies and ghost stories. Odd.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ooh, I can't stand those t-shirt sheets. I thought I'd really like them, but they don't stay cool enough.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'm a peasant. As long as the sheets are clean, I don't care what count or what fabric. Well, maybe I wouldn't want flannel in Arizona in July.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Lily is so pretty!

How's the Amby working for y'all?

As it was an insanely lovely spring day, we decided to drive home via Lake Washington. At some point on the drive, we thought hey, let's stop at Seward Park, where one thing lead to another and we wound up walking the whole two and a half mile trail.

And I was going to show up on the thread and boast about how we just got back from walking around Green Lake and how fit and pleased with myself I was because we never did it at all last year and now maybe I'm going to get healthy again.....but never mind....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

LILTY TICKYBOX!

Herding cats for fun

Mmmm, clean sheets. One of life's greatest pleasures.

HELLO, Princess Tickybox LEEM. You are a big cutie!!!

Re: Cleveland: I have been infected with big baby-love after getting to see Owen Cutiehead, Kara Raptorgirl, and Aidan Spikelet. OMG, they're all just so wonderful, I could eat 'em with a spoon. Poor Kara cried and said "NO!" when we said Goodbye at the airport. Going home with me instead of back home with Mommy seemed like a good idea to her right then.

But it's really really nice to sleep in my own bed again, all surrounded by kitties and DH.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Plei, that picture is amazing. (tickybox!)

Re: "slut"--I dislike the word because to me its connotations are "Women shouldn't like to have sex" and, you know, fuck that noise. But I'll cheerfully call men sluts. Let's hear it for the double standard.

My mother just sent me a job listing that would be nigh perfect for me. It's a part-time library director position, close by, that doesn't require a master's degree. The part-time bit would be good for while I'm in library school (uh, which reminds me, I really need to get that application out soon...), and the experience would serve me really well. And I wouldn't have to commute two hours a day! What bliss.

Compassionately intolerant

Lily is obviously gorgeous and maintains the impossibly high level of cutieheadedness required of Buffista sprog.

But really?

She's got a tremendously wise air about her.

I dunno, maybe my brain melted from the cute, or perhaps I'm naively influenced by black and white photography but, jeez...gravitas.

brillig

Like your real ex-boyfriend?? Or someone who looks like your ex?

I am not now, nor have I ever been, intimately acquainted with anyone who has been proposed as a U.N. ambassador.

Though I'd have done Moynihan.

My true-life ex may still have it in him to be a Bush nominee for something, though, the reactionary jerk. The current nominee wears his hair like Joe did, and the moustache is very similar, though grey instead of blond.
