Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

t waves at Eddie and Perkins

Perkins, when all else fails, I've been known to leave the TV or radio on something kinda lulling and monotonous to drown out neighbor noise. I once slept in a hotel to the National Spelling Bee on ESPN.

I've had a good day. I've been having trouble getting anything done all week, but today I....

...did massive amounts of laundry and folded three loads worth (one load is still in the dryer and another in the washer, and they'll stay there till tomorrow).
...wrote 3 pages on the wip, which is my daily goal--depending on whether I write daily, I manage 15-20 pages/week, 60-70/month. Not bad for a writer with a one-year-old.
...followed up with a freelance client.
...judged an entry for a writing contest.

All while taking care of Annabel, spending plenty of time online, and skimming to the end of a book that just wasn't quite exciting enough to read properly. There were things I wanted to do that didn't happen, but I'm not going to push myself till midnight to get them done. This is the best day I've had in nearly a month, so I'm going to curl up with a book and read until midnight, maybe with a Daily Show break in there somewhere. I've earned it.

Yay Susan! You certainly do deserve it!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I. love. this.

I went on the best. date. ever. last night. He's amazing. As soon as we sat down at the coffeeshop, it was like talking to someone I've known for years. And we talked for hours. It was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful.
But not half as much as I love THIS!!! Yay Jen! And smoochies!

Their test wants three adjectives to describe me. I used "foamy." Best not tell me I am a mermaid.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Timelies.

More packing to be done today. My mom arrives this evening to help me out with packing, yard sale stuff, etc. etc. Even though I know that the packing process = major household disorder, I'm still having to fight the urge to clean and tidy the place before she arrives.

Nearly all the books are packed, except for a few stragglers that are living here and there on end tables and nightstands.

DVDs, CDs, and crafting supplies get packed today. Whee.

Bwah! I can totally see this.

Timelies!

I slept like crap. I have much to do today. Hopefully I'll find the energy.

Hey. New board.

Man, catching up on Season Five of The Gilmore Girls has me pissed off.

(Link goes to my most recent livejournal post, a rant about society in the context of GG Season Five. Specifically, a society where it's okay for the word "slut" to be applied to a character displaying what appears to be a rather normal college-age sex life. There are spoilers for the season thus far, so don't click if that's a bad. Comments and arguments welcome.)

vw! Good to see you. I can totally understand why you wouldn't have any energy this morning.

I have fifteen more minutes before I will make myself get up and get working. I have a horrible feeling that this won't all be done on time.

Ooooooo...how can I steal that fifteen minutes?! I want more Anne time!

Gris, I'll have to go check that out later and share my thoughts.

I'm waiting for the detective to call me back. Grrrrr... I'm not patient.

Eep! I should have checked back earlier. The 15 minutes are nearly up (I was reading some fanfiction, and lost track of time). Anyhow, I'll be checking in here from time to time between various tasks and suchlike.

A week from today, the movers arrive. A week from tomorrow, I go to settlement and get a nice fat check for this house. A week from Thursday, I hit the road. A week from Friday, I will be in my house, possibly with nothing more than a cat, an Aerobed, and a carload of electronic equipment.
