Actually not needing validation right now, but thank you.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I really did. Occupational hazard.

Oh thank goodness.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You know every time I think about wee Lillian, I get a pleasant calm sensation of "she's here."

I've had her picture open in another window since Jilli posted it, and I keep periodically looking at it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've only had goat curry (curried goat? I forget what the menu said) at an Indian restaurant.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Me three!

Er, goat curry in an Indian restaurant. It was yummy.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Curry goat isn't just West Indian. Or our influence has stretched beyond borders. I've had it just as often in Indian restaurants as in Jamaican ones.

Huh. I eat my words. With a portion of curry goat. (Although I've never seen it on a menu in an Indian restaurant in Britain, that I recall - maybe a UK/US thing? Or maybe I just don't stray far enough from the chicken/veg/fish bit of the menu?)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

And yet we never go into the city, unless it's a) the zoo, b) the airport, or c) when I was taking Ben to Children's Hospital for his foot. We've been to Old City *once* in the eight years we've lived here, and went to Warm Daddy's for blues. We're pathetic.

Well, I lived in the city proper for 8 years, and there were still things I missed or rarely visited, so I can't really call anyone pathetic. You think it'll always be there, and next thing you know it's still there, but you aren't. I'm still annoyed at my collegiate self for never going on any of the weekend trips to NYC to see Les Miz or anything else Broadwayish. They were always when I didn't have enough money or was busy with midterms, so I figured I'd go some other time. Guess I'll have to put that on my list for when I'm an Important Bestselling Author going to NYC to schmooze with my editor and agent, huh?
