Trust my rage

I've been thinking about Princess Tickybox and her arrival all day, but just now getting around to saying I'm excited for all three of you!!!!

I just tried to order my gown for graduation over the phone.

Order woman: Well, what size are you?
Me: I'm not too sure. Normally, a women's M, but I'm pregnant.
OW: So, what size will you be when the time comes?
Me: I'm not too sure. I'm 5'9" and will be about 195 by then.
OW: So, a L then?
Me: I guess. What do you think? I've never seen the gowns before.
OW: Well, it would help if I knew how big you are.
Me: I guess I could measure myself. Would that help?
OW: Probably not. I'll just put you down for an L.

Surely I'm not the first pregnant woman they have ever had. How hard is it, particularly when she is supposed to be the expert????

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wow, my brain just went to a BAD place....

Because I sent it there.

How so? Because I brag on you?

cf. Teppy's bad place.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Stephanie, I don't think anyone has any idea how to size graduation gowns. The last one I wore was sized only by height, come to think of it.

I *knew* I should have quoted...dude, I'm brain-damaged, not completely thick...I get that, well, okay, I *don't*, but I understand where you went with it. But how is promoting my friends' books on the taxpayer nickel helpful to me?

What is even happening?

Wow, my brain just went to a BAD place....
I'm just so thankful I'm not the only one.

But how is promoting my friends' books on the taxpayer nickel helpful to me?
Because you love your friends and like to see them succeed, and know there's probably a good mix in it for ya?

Congrats Nora & Tom!!! That house is beautiful! Salem reminds me some of the little Colonial-era preserved town I grew up in in Delaware. And good for you for starting therapy again, Nora. The whole house buying thing is completely stressful. I wouldn't call my house "my house" until I actually had the keys and was sitting on the floor in the dining room post-settlement. I just was so afraid somebody was going to catch on to the fact that they were selling a house to me .

Safe and easy passage for PTB! Soon I hope!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Congrats to Tom & Nora, and continued house-ma, to keep things moving smoothly.

May PTB arrive safe, healthy, and with a minimal amount of drama.

Stephanie, I don't think anyone has any idea how to size graduation gowns.

I hope that's true. I gave her my basic info, so I guess I'll just trust it will fit.

Oh! And Joey the Cat came home last night!!!

Two girls found him late last night in an alley one street over from my friend's house. They called her number from the flyer and she picked him up--he was a little confused and a little grumpy but he's otherwise ok.   The whole story just reinforces how much I love our neighborhood sometimes and, especially, the group of friends I have here now. Joey may not have been found so quickly had it not been for another friend of ours who lives nearby. She was walking her dog yesterday afternoon and ran into these girls hanging out by their house near where Joey lives. She told them about him going missing and they said they thought they'd seen him around already. She asked them to look out for him and told them about the flyers. When he showed up again in their alley late last night, they knew to look for the flyer and call Joey's person right away.

Yay! Happy Pet Missing Stories! I'm so relieved!!!

(picturing a little girl wondering why she gets "TickyBox" cards.) That stuff is true, Cindy. And I suppose there are only so many ways to kill twenty minutes(/fake jaded.) You know it's fake because I'm still puzzled by the plugs.
