Can't drink, smoke, diddle my willy. Doesn't leave much to do other than watch you blokes stumble around playing Agatha Christie.

Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Ack! I've been there. Some years back, I got a physical through the office (it was a thing that was done back then). The doctor read me the riot act about my weight.

Over the next 6 weeks, I lost 25 pounds. By the end of it, I was so depressed that I wasn't eating at all. Even suicidal.

Soon after, I broke the cycle. Gained half the weight back over the next 2 months. Felt much better.

So, even if losing the jeans size may have been good for her physical health (and based on what Jessica said, it may have been), I can't say that the declining mental health was a fair price.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Lucky is the only "women's" magazine I read these days. It contains nothing but lists and pictures of items I might like to buy, and the articles, such as they are, are little more than "Ooooh, shoes!!!!" It's fabulous.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Lectures about weight have never helped anyone that I know. I'm certain that somewhere out there, there's a handful of people for whom BMECT holds true, and I've just not met them, but for the rest of us, the lectures do way more harm than good.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Sigh. Yeah, thanks Nora. I'm just really wiped out and dealing with the type of little petty crap that by itself isn't a big deal but together adds up to be a total PITA.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

If the existence of cool clothes for fat girls is responsible for keeping them fat, I'd like that tiny-dicked Salon author to explain why I was fat in the 70s and 80s, when only polyester existed.

Notice no one ever bitches about men's Big and Tall shops. No, because they're "muscular" and "strong."

I'll show them strong. I mean, really. What is WITH this upsurge in Fat As Moral Failing recently? It's always been out there, sure, but it really seems like it's increasing.

Say, is anyone familiar with the meds "Triazalom" "Temazpan" or "Flurazepan"?

Triazolam is Halcion, temazepan is Restoril, and flurazepam is Dalmane. They're all older meds, in the benzodiazepine class, whose big downside is that they don't leave your body quickly, so you're groggy as hell the next day.

If those are your only choices, I say take 2 Benadryl instead. Seriously.

Back to work, which is eating me from my bottom, and my incompetent!boss has fucked up large twice, both of which have directly impacted me and slowed me way down, and yet he still expects me to meet his deadline. The first fuck-up, I literally (for the first time ever) laughed in his face. The second time I think I growled.

Um, ownership society? er, moral center of Americacakes blah blah blah?

It's what happens when you get frat boys "No Fat Chix" in office.

Man, that article started making me hate everyone and everything again. And I was doing better!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Thanks, Steph! I knew you'd have da goods.

Or, could your doctor write a Rx for half a month's supply of Ambien, instead of a full month? That way it would be cheaper, and since you only use it a couple nights a week, it would still last almost a month.

Okay, back to work for real now.
