Yay meara! My olympic athlete friend that travels all the time loves the Rush Hour and Shape to Shape puzzles for killing time traveling and staying in hotels with no English language entertainment. [link] She saw them at my house and declared it was just what she needed for light weight time suckage.
Spike's Bitches 23: We've mastered the power of positive giving up.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Hil, so sorry about the frustrating day. I hope today is better.
MM, that is SO COOL!
I had a really nice day with my mom yesterday. We accomplished much, including cutting our own wood at Home Depot. I used a saw and everything! I finished getting everything I've been wanting for the living room, and hopefully I'll get it all prettied up this weekend while Emily is gone. I'm so excited!
Of course, I totally crashed when I got home, but that was ok. I still think it's a better day than I've had in a while.
Today is going to be long. One of my profs wants to see me after my last class, which means I have to stay on campus even though I'm not going to said class. Oh well.
Congrats, meara! How around the world are we talking, exactly? Where are you going to be going? You've gotten to do some amazing travel in the past year or so.
As for pumpkin ale, I have a friend who used to make pumpkin mead every year around Thanksgiving by stealing one of the "decorative" pumpkins on campus. It was actually pretty good.
I spent last night making donuts for my Women in American History class. They turned out really well--simple recipe, and we glazed them and everything. I wish I could share them--they're taunting me from across the room!
I leave for Chicago the next 3AM that comes around. Needless to say, today is going to be a long-ass day. However, it starts off with meeting the kindof-sortof boy for breakfast (because that is literally the only time we have to see each other all day before I leave), so that, at least, is a good reason for me to be up this damn early.
Timlies, all.
Miracleman, that's really the coolest.
Smooth move, giving it to him before Mother's Day, Aimee. Now the pressure's on him. You should be getting that camel in no time!
Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you, SA. I must have had the window opeen for a while, or something.

Mmmmm.
Have fun with the sortaboy. I like breakfast dates, or ya know, "dates".
Frank, s'cool, we'll catch up one of these days. I recall that you have been trying to get up to Maine for a while...
Deena, my favorite show on HGTV, which I am totally spacing on the name of, is the one where they renovate a room by using crap in the people's garage or basement or what have you. it's totally the "work with what ya got" show.
Edit: Ooh, number!
Timelies.
Not much else to say besides that. I kind of wish that I weren't working this temp job for the next two weeks, but a) I told them I would, and b) the money is nice.
I may just have to tell them that I need tomorrow afternoon off, but not tell them that it's for no other reason than slounging around my house.
Anne! I had a dream about you last night. Actually, about you and your house. You were hosting a HUGE overnight party...part of it was at Disney World (clearly that doesn't really make sense), but we were all staying with you afterwards. There were all these doors and mazes to get to the different rooms. It was a really wild dream.
SA, pass one of those donuts over here. I need some breakfast!
Anne, when do you close on the sale of your house, and move, and stuff?
vw, funny you should say that--the new house is a perfect party house, and I'm hoping that various Buffistae will come to visit.
Closing is on the 27th, and I get in my car and head west on the 28th. Whee!
Mom's going to come here on the 20th and help me pack. The movers will theoretically be getting all my stuff on the 26th.
Not a lot of time left, is there?
The big things left to do (besides packing) are to get the boxes for packing, arrange one more visit from the plumber, and take care of getting various utilities and services cancelled.
