I suppose I understand how someone gets that way, if they're always dealing with underlings whose job is to cater to their needs rather than the reverse. But anyone who's going to be dealing with clients should have it drilled into their heads that you offer solutions or at least apologies rather than recriminations. You'd think an understanding of that process would be a requirement for becoming a corporate executive.

The other thing about the whole meetup situation that I thought was neat was the proposal for building their own version, which made me all nostalgic and stuff. There seems to be more and more of that going around as the suits try to stick it to their non-paying customers.

Gus--I ran the fellow's name (which I'm not comfortable sharing on the interbunny considering I don't even know him, despite his being a neighbor) but got no hits.
The estate sale gargoylelady was loathe to give up the tapes before the end of the sale (roughly 2 hours). I left a note for the gentleman and will anticipate his call.
