Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

I have a plan.

Two hours of sleep is no sleep, as far as I'm concerned. Of course the problem is what to do with those two hours.

Disclaimer; that hasn't stopped me from trying for a nap though.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I may go for the nap just to reduce the grump factor a little.

Goodnight, Thomash.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

glad you got out last night Emily. My thing I did was sort of a weird failure, but Not My Fault. (important when dealing with long-ago exes) Plus, Tom was there, so how bad could it be?

Also, I'm sorry if my previous post about housing in S-ville came off as obnoxious. I am kind of bitter, though. I'm excited about moving to Salem... but I wish we didn't *have* to. I wish it were our choice because we liked it better than S-ville. But I love the place we're buying and am starting to tire of the whole "most densley populated city in the Northeast" thing. Anyway. that was me apologizing.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'm excited about moving to Salem...

You're moving to Salem? I'm excited for you, but sad you'll be leaving the 'hood.

I am continually shocked at S-ville housing prices. It's coming up to nine years since I bought my 2-family. If I told you what I paid for it, you'd scream. I couldn't afford to buy my house today.

What is even happening?

If it's any consolation Nora, everyone I know who grew up around here (that is to say, except for those people who grew up *in* Somerville), are pretty boggled that Somerville is so hot, these days.

We always called it Slummerville.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hell, she'd scream over what I paid for my house, 5 years ago now.

Thanks for the link to the Salon article, Tom -- I hadn't caught that. My take is much the same as the writer's.

It's a little cold and damp here today, but all the trees are starting to show little leaves and my narcissi are opening, and I've even see a couple violets in my violet patch, so all is well. Also, it looks like I'll actually get some lilac blooms this year, so hurrah!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My left wrist hurts and I don't know why...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm sure your Tivo will be good to you.

I hope so. It was still in set up mode when I left, but assured me that I would have a working Tivo in 4 to 8 hours.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My TiVo did a scary thing a couple days ago, where it was refusing to delete anything. I rebooted, it repented, and we're still an item.

So now I can catch up on my Kojak without worries of having to commit.

eta: What are the key components of Kojak? Botht he show and the character? Ving's bald and sucks on the lollipop. What else do they need to do to make it more than just lifting three things?
