You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

there are only 3 Star Wars movies, and they were all released prior to the 1990s

Except Palpatine was in one of them, too.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

And that Palpatine I'd have recognized.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

No problem, Betsy. Feel free to ask away.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

And that Palpatine I'd have recognized.

Me, too.

Jess, on the jury duty thing -- I have no idea. (Does NYC or New York [state] have a website that explains things? I rely on the internets for everything, it seems.)

I think ChiKat already commented on the graffiti, but I'd just like to share anyway... [link]

Now tagless for your comfort.

I received a jury summons about a month ago, except I served in 2003 and so shouldn't be eligible until 2007. I meant to fax in the certificate that says I already served, but I completely spaced on doing it until tonight. Problem is, I was supposed to call in last night to see if they needed me as a juror. How much trouble am I in?

Depending on how pissy the Clerk of Courts is, you could be held in contempt. But I'd call, be contrite and ask where you can fax your waiver of duty to first thing in the morning.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I got to meet Partyman too!

everything makes me think of SNL today.

OOH, there was a man at Allyson's KICKASS Lost Party (tm) wearing a t-shirt that said "More Cowbell", and I knew what it meant.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I faxed it tonight, so they'll have it in the morning. I just should have done it last night. Or last week.

I should probably still call.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I got no idea about the NYC jury service.

I think I just saw something unusual on local network tv. WBAL (NBC affiliate) ran an hourlong program "Survivors Among Us" which was interviews/travels with local Holocaust survivors with no commercials. And frankly, it was really really well done.

I normally am seriously not impressed by local programming. Not so this time.Especially appreciative of the message emphasized that now that you know the stories, you are a witness with all the responsibility that entails.
