I wondered something about NUMB3RS. The kid's theory about Sniper 0 meant that 0 was the first sniper right? Committed the first two crimes, at least? But when he drew the accuracy graph, killing #1 was low skill, and #2 was high. What in hell was the point of numbering the kills in anything other than time order?
I was wondering the same thing. All I could come up with was that he took his easiest shot first.
I'm good with the axis thing, though. It sure sounded like the axis we couldn't see was being labelled x.
I watched the scene a couple of times, and it sure seems like he's writing "x" up at the top. Also, the first two rows of data that were on the blackboard were labeled "x" and "y."
ita, those Moscow architecture pictures were awesome. So cool.
Yay, Erin! Congratulations! That is totally the awesomest!
Happy Birthday, NoiseDesign!
I was invited to a cast party tonight that would involve being driven far away, but also to an event sponsored by the Hawaii Club on campus. I think I will go to the campus one, since the other party will be much more difficult to leave, if it is not-fun. Although this particular cast party is less likely to devolve into the drinking Fuck, Yeah! game and the stripping Signs game, since it will be held at the director's house.
Also, I went out dancing last night, and now I'm all sore. Has anyone ever salsa danced on stairs? Very interesting. Then we went to a restaurant with a dance floor, where all these old men kept asking me to dance. Why do old men like me? I don't get it. Oh well.
I also went to my teacher's studio this morning, and that was fun, plus free bagels! I like free food. Then we went to CPK, which was a little sad, since I was not hungry at all, because of the free bagels. So it felt a little bit like a wasted trip to CPK. And then I came home and took a nap. Because my day was all, like, hard and stuff, and I needed to rest. (Hahaha.)
Have fun at the Lost party, peeps!

JZ and he are making gummy bugs and worms now.
So cute.
I just dl'd the last Numb3rs. Mr. Mac rocked, of course.
The math of the thing ... not so much. Epidemics follow a course much closer to an asymptote than what was shown. The curve is very steep. The asymptotic event would have stuck way out to the right...
OK, it is getting geeky up in here.
Threadkiller, have you had any kite-flying weather in your area yet?
I just spent a couple hours wrestling with my Trlbys. My shoulders are telling me I haven't exercised much in the last six months.
Fwop. Weird day.
Hauled my butt out to the playground building, but due to me signing up late, a front page (maybe of the local section) story on the project this am and a huge-er than expected group of Americorp volunteers with actual skills, there was nothing for me to do. Which, other than me not getting to help, is pretty damned cool. They had too many volunteers! But I'm on the list for cleanup, if necessary. It's a fantastic playground. HUGE. Using the plastic composite stuff. Lots of swings and slides and climby on things. The kids at the neighborhood schools designed it.
Then I drove around and got deliberately lost in various interesting and out of the way neighborhoods. And then I thought I'd gotten found but it turned out to be a big dead end LIE and I was lost somewhere on Television Hill, which was weird. I could have looked at a map, but figured as long as the neighborhood wasn't sketchy, I'd stay lost. So I did and then BOOM. I was near home. Somehow. That was fun. So I went to Home Depot and bought some pansies and alyssum and verbena and snapdragons. Coming around the corner, I hit the Evil Curb (it has an exposed metal edge) and flattened my tire. Large gash in the sidewall.
So I tried changing a tire. Scraped the hell out of my hands on the trunk liner getting the jack out. My only injury. However the lug nuts were attached by the Hulk, so after I tried, a friendly cabby tried, and a bulky dude tried, I gave up and called AAA. The guy came out and effortlessly removed the lugs. We must have been a trio of wimps. The guy gave me an in at the nearby tire shop, so I got a deal. Wandered across the street and got dinner at the A&W and had a nice conversation with a little old lady.
Several errands later, and I'm dying my hair.
I still have to clean. I'm kinda tired.
dcp, It has all been rain and ugliness today. There was 15-20-gusty Friday, but I was locked in a room with a computer. Rats.
That is you with the satellite on the hook in those DTV commercials, right? Fess up!
t Dude, there are womens listening! Don't ever let them know flying kites can make your delts cry for mercy. They'll pull your Bitchin' Dude card!
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday NoiseDesign!
Busy weekend here. Last night we went to the Birchmere to see the latest incarnation of the Four Bitchin' Babes, which was a good show. Today our dance group had a gig which went well except for me getting sunburn on my chest. Tomorrow we go to see the Nationals play.(Note to self: remember sunscreen)
Sheryl, I love the FBB! I went to a show, eh, it was probably more than a year ago, and there were six Bitchin' Babes that night. It was such a blast.
Jen, you probably saw the reunion show. We saw that, too.
