Tara: Do you have any books on robots? Giles: Oh, yes, dozens. There's a lot of research to be done in order to--no, I'm lying. Haven't got squat. I just like watching Xander squirm.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Mary's just sitting there watching.

Well, she only watches until she's blind. :)

I need a new copy of the series. Farmer Boy was my favorite. I got it when I had the chicken pox.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday, ND!

Emmett's team finally won a baseball game. We're now 1-3. Emmett got to play back in the infield again too. He started at catcher and nobody stole on him for two innings. (And basically everybody that gets to first base steals second because it's such a long throw for most of the 8-9 y.o.s).

Then he pitched for the first time. I was a little worried how he'd handle it. It's easy to tighten up out there and get very frustrated when you lose the strike zone. While he was warming up, a couple pitches got by the catcher and hit the wooden backdrop with a resounding BOOM. The kids on the other team started to look a little nervous at this Nuke Laloosh display. First batter. Strike out swinging. Emmett is reaching back and just unleashing it. No self-consciousness at all. No aiming, just rearing back and blowing it by them. And he's right around the plate on all the pitches. Except every 10th pitch would go blasting back against the backdrop. The third batter was so far back from the plate he took two called strikes on the inside part of the plate.

He faced 6 batters in two innings and struck out 5. The last batter received 4 balls, which means his coach comes in to pitch. Kid hit an absolute blast into the outfield where our centerfielder, Nathan, made a gorgeous leaping catch to end the inning. Nathan and Noah were the stars of the game. Nathan also blasted a triple which scored several. Noah also pitched two strong innings and had a bases clearing triple, and another double.

Our infield defense still sucks, but out pitching is now pretty good, and our hitting was very impressive this game. t /braggity brag

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wondered something about NUMB3RS. The kid's theory about Sniper 0 meant that 0 was the first sniper right? Committed the first two crimes, at least? But when he drew the accuracy graph, killing #1 was low skill, and #2 was high. What in hell was the point of numbering the kills in anything other than time order? I'm good with the axis thing, though. It sure sounded like the axis we couldn't see was being labelled x. But then he went into multiple dimensions.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh, gosh, have I said...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NOISE DESIGN!!!

Here's hoping you have a wonderful year, and that your vodka is always chilled and happy-making.

Hee, go Emmett!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Going back to last night: I have a couple of those shrunken blazers. I wore a white one yesterday. They are awesome. They look flattering on more women than most trendy pieces do, and you can wear them to work and play.

Also, weathered and/or dirty jeans are great.

Do your shrunken jackets have shortened sleeves? I'm a fan of the 3/4 length in shirts, but I think in jackets it'd drive me crazy.

At least one of them does, and it doesn't bother me at all.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I've tried on the shruken jackets. I just looked like I was trying to squeeze into a jacket that was two sizes too small.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy Birthday, ND!

Mary isn't boring, she's GOOD, Mary is what a young lady was suposed to be back then--quiet, thoughtful, helpful, demure. Laura is the BAD girl, wilfull, wild, sassy, restless--which is why it's great that she's the heroine of the books.

Art Crawl!!!

I think that the shrunken jackets look cute but on me they look like they just don't fit.

I have enough of that look already.

I enjoy Numb3rs and don't understand the numbery parts of it which is okay because I love the family.

My gray cat is sitting next to my keyboard, staring at me and purring.

It's weirding me out.
