Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Aww, Perkins, it's never too early to miss LA.

I bet Lily misses LA, and she's never been there.

Everything is better with stripey tights.

Hell yes.

Man, I wish the recovery room had had a working Ethernet port. There was *nothing* on TV yesterday or this morning, and reading books and nursing are unmixy things. Stupid page turning need.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Of course, I NEVER throw anything away. I'm bad that way.

Ooh! Do you have one of those super-wide black elastic belts that were so popular in the late 80s? They were 6-9" wide, and usually had some sort of odd metal clasps in the front. I've been searching *ages* for one.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Plei!!!

I like Lily's initials, by the way.

I was just going to say the same thing.

Stupid page turning need.

Man. That bites. Are all the nurses too busy to help out a new mother in need?

I miss those! I had a friend who had one that laced up the front, and was closer to a foot wide. It was so effin' cool.

Does Lily have stripey tights yet? Cause she should.

I remember those worn with HUGE enamelled buckles. Some cloisonne. One I remember in particular was a huge butterfly. It looked like you'd puncture organs if you bent over.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do you have one of those super-wide black elastic belts that were so popular in the late 80s?

Oh, god. I had a mini with one of these attached, but it was a teeny skirt, and as soon as I was over a size 2, it no longer fit. But I kept it forever because I loved the belting so.

Perkins, of course you miss us. It's weird that you're not waiting until you've left, but still.

Not yet, but she will when she's a little bigger.

Sigh. Must sign off--I booted the machine that's making weird sounds to post in Beep Me, and don't feel comfortable leaving it running until we figure out what's up with it.

Later, peeps.

Yep. If I could find that elastic, I'd make my own damn versions of them.

Does Lily have stripey tights yet? Cause she should.

Some of us are working on that.
