What's different about the plastic-wrapped ones? Are they tailored for baking?
My potato had a sticker on it claiming some sort of greatness in baking. It needs to talk about speed in baking. I'm on soft foods until tomorrow, and that's the best I can do with what's here.

I like baked potatoes, man. I don't have a microwave oven; it takes forever to cook a baked potato in a conventional oven. Sometimes I'll just throw one in there, even if I don't want one, because by the time it's done... who knows? I'll throw a potato in and go on vacation.

That reminds me, I've not yet tried the current gas oven out on a baked potato to see if it comes out like the ones in restaurants (vastly superior to potatoes baked at home in microwaves or an electric oven, IMHO).

Betsy -- I have a KitchenAid mixer, an ice cream machine with dual vats, a crock pot with a timer, a 400 watt hand blender, cordless electric kettle, and one of those one-handed pepper grinders. Am not averse to the kitchen gadgets. However, West LA kitchens? Way short on counter space.
