Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

tommyrot is reminding me of my Dad.

Why? Is he unusually clever, witty and handsome?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

"Photograph" was a pretty good solo-Ringo song, but I always liked Beatles-era "Yellow Submarine." Also good for not-too-much range (alto division) is the Dixie Chicks, as long as you can twang it up.

always made God sound like a creepy stalker/peeping deity.

I've always felt that way about Santa.

Up with the sun

No, it's a song about Bart Starr.

Huh. I always thought that it was a song about the Victorian children's game "Rings Around the Stars," which was updated and renamed "Ring-o-Star" in 1960. The commercial jingle was a hit for the Archies in 1964, then revamped by Daisy Bang in 1967.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

My mother doesn't think so.

But your Ringo Starr songs explanation sounds like something he'd make up say.

Up with the sun

Someone (I think it was Lyra Jane) mentioned liking "From A Distance". That one always cracked me up with the badness, just because the lyrics (God is watching us, God is watching us, God is watching us, from a distance) always made God sound like a creepy stalker/peeping deity

Eh, I think I just like Bette Midler's voice. (I saw Beaches a few too many times in my formative years.) I always heard the lyrics as taking kind of a Deist view of the Universe, the idea being that God does not micromanage. But I'm probably being charitable.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

What's a Ringo Starr song? He was a Beatle, right? Did he go solo afterwards?

Weeps for the youth of America.

Another no ranger is Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits.

I guess I should assume this is a scam of some sort?

Oh yes. Definitely a scam.
