Calli, loads of heath and healing to your mom, and some peace for you.
Does anyone have a very, blurry water color sort of explanation of Karla Homolka? I'm afraid of your link, Fred Pete (and appreciate your warning).
In brief, whitefonted:
She was married to Paul Bernardo who was also, it turned out, the Scarborough (Ont.) Rapist. Before they married, she drugged her own sister so that Paul could rape her, and they accidentally killed her in the process. After they married, in addition to his continuing attacks on women (I think they were in the Niagra area by then), they kidnapped, raped, and dismembered several young girls, videotaping the whole thing. Unfortunately, the police got the idea that Karla was more of an intimidated wife than an active participant, and cut a deal with her to put him away. Shortly after that, their lawyer produced the videotapes showing that she was with him on it all along. So she only ended up getting about 10 or 12 years instead of the life sentence she so richly deserves.
Oh dear, brenda. Thank you, but how awful. *shudder*
Good lord. I've never even heard of that case. Disturb-a-rama.
I got my favorite breakfast this morning. makes me happy.
Living in Ontario in the early-mid nineties, it was impossible not to know way too much of the details. Starting from the fear of the Scarborough Rapist (S-boro is a suburb of Toronto), and the gradually unfolding horror as they figured out what happened. I get a sick feeling just hearing their names.
So what is your favorite breakfast?
I'd like to know why I keep having spooky, menacing dreams that end with a thunderclap that wakes me up. I like thunder. It doesn't really scare me. And there is no thunder happening at 6:15 am here.
Cindy, brenda gave the digest version of what's at my link.
Calli, health-ma to your mother. Also, on the fingernails part, is a manicure an option? I was an incurable nailbiter until I started getting manicured. Plus, it can be relaxing in its own right.
I just found out that I passed the ethics exam (needed to get my bar license)! Almost everyone passes, but it still makes me feel good to know that I have one less thing to worry about.
