Played with Kaylee. Sun came out, and I walked on my feet and heard with my ears. I ate the bits, the bits stayed down, and I work. I function like I'm a girl. I hate it because I know it'll go away. The sun goes dark and chaos has come again. Bits. Fluids. What am I?!

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I'm pretty sure I saw that concert too.

Color Me Badd, "I Adore Mi Amor." Dude, your title rhymes.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Robin -- I have an especial weakness for "I'm so broken" songs, and also the "Oh, really???? Wait till you find out what you're missing!!!!" songs. I never even got the the whine in the voice, I was so entranced by the whine in the lyrics.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oh, and "Every Breath You Take"? NOT a love song. Not not not.

And yet. I'm sure it has been a wedding song a time or two hundred.

As has "Music of the Night". Well, one time that I witnessed anyway.

And no, the marriage didn't last.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Number 2 is Air Supply, "Even the Nights Are Better."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I've seen this love songs special. In fairness, they do say at the beginning that these are songs that one often likes despite its badness. The list is not supposed to say that liking the song is inexcusable.

Re: the Real Estate Bubble. Yesterday on the CBC Business news they were talking about something called the water cooler theory, which was as soon as you hear a lot of people in your office, at parties, etc. talking about how they are making a killing, it's a good time to sell and get out. That's what that article made me think of.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Two Princes - Spin Doctors

I love this song. So there.

ita--makes sense. I have a soft spot for "I love you AIFG" types of songs--even when I was all divorcing and bitter. Go figure.

ETA-- Oops! makeS sense--I am agreeing with ita, not lecturing her.

The "I'm so broken" makes sense for me to like, obviously. The "Oh, you'll live to regret this!" NSM. Having never broken up. I think everyone likes the "I'm not broken after all!" songs (cf I'm A Believer), so I don't find my love of that song topic quite as interesting.

You? You're just an optimist and can't shake it. Makes perfect sense.
