What's new?
A good friend got married on Monday, and it was so much fun. He was so nervous during the khupa, he looked like he was having stomach aches of the worst kind. But as soon as the ceremony was over, this huge gigantic smile was spilt all over his face, and throughout the entire evening he looked like his feet were a few centimeters above the ground. His smile was as big as - well, at least the entire room, and at least as a few days, because I just talked to him and he sounds like he's still drunk-but-not-from-whine.
Oh, much health to Jeff!
What a happy story, Nilly! Do y'all carry the couple around on chairs in Israel, or is that just an American thing?

Carry on chairs in what parts of the wedding?
When dancing - especially to the sound of Jewish, Hasidic music, in circles and the like - they sometimes make the bride or the groom or both to sit/stand on a chair or a table and they're being lifted up and people are dancing around them, and of course the people carrying the chair/table like to play with it and raise and lower it and try to make the bride scared for laughs. Stuff like that?
[Edit:
What a happy story
He's one of those people that just radiate warmth and goodwill all around them. Every person (and I mean literally every person) who speaks to him, feels like they're his friends, and want to be. He kept saying how blessed he felt, showered with love on his big day, and I kept trying to explain to him that it was what people felt about him and his wife.]
Health~ma to Jeff. I sent a note to him, and his sister and will report any reply.
Heath~ma to pretty Rio too.
Best wishes for health to Jeff and Rio.

Yes, that.
Did anyone save the L.A. Freakshow Roommate posting? I want to gawk, and Craigslist took it down and is therefore not enabling me. *pout*
Re: TAR -- Yeah, I was bummed to see the brothers go. They would have needed a bunch to catch up, and they didn't get one. I think they were decent players this episode, they just never had a chance to regain the time they lost when their jeep rolled. But I loved the changing into swimsuits and hats -- at least they went out in style.
I think I'm rooting for Joyce & Uchenna now -- she's kinda bland, but they annoy me less than anyone else still in the race. I'd be more willing to see Lynn's comment about them being "born to do" the head-balancing as just meaning they were good at it if he hadn't also gone off about Compton last week. I think it's safe to say he has Issues about race.
And I agree that it looks like Killer Fatigue got to Kelly.
Yes, that.
Oh, and last month, on the henna ceremony the day before my roommate's wedding (we still didn't find a new one, by the way - anybody wants the room?), they made her sit on this big platform and carry her in, and they had one of her (adorable) nephews sit in her lap and he thouroughly enjoyed it.
Let me use the great Search function to find where I wrote about it here. Oh: Nilly "Natter 33 1/3" Mar 9, 2005 7:11:17 am PST
