Best wishes for health to Jeff and Rio.

Are you ready to be strong?

When dancing - especially to the sound of Jewish, Hasidic music, in circles and the like - they sometimes make the bride or the groom or both to sit/stand on a chair or a table and they're being lifted up and people are dancing around them, and of course the people carrying the chair/table like to play with it and raise and lower it and try to make the bride scared for laughs. Stuff like that?

Yes, that.

Up with the sun

Did anyone save the L.A. Freakshow Roommate posting? I want to gawk, and Craigslist took it down and is therefore not enabling me. *pout*

Re: TAR -- Yeah, I was bummed to see the brothers go. They would have needed a bunch to catch up, and they didn't get one. I think they were decent players this episode, they just never had a chance to regain the time they lost when their jeep rolled. But I loved the changing into swimsuits and hats -- at least they went out in style.

I think I'm rooting for Joyce & Uchenna now -- she's kinda bland, but they annoy me less than anyone else still in the race. I'd be more willing to see Lynn's comment about them being "born to do" the head-balancing as just meaning they were good at it if he hadn't also gone off about Compton last week. I think it's safe to say he has Issues about race.

And I agree that it looks like Killer Fatigue got to Kelly.

Yes, that.

Oh, and last month, on the henna ceremony the day before my roommate's wedding (we still didn't find a new one, by the way - anybody wants the room?), they made her sit on this big platform and carry her in, and they had one of her (adorable) nephews sit in her lap and he thouroughly enjoyed it.

Let me use the great Search function to find where I wrote about it here. Oh: Nilly "Natter 33 1/3" Mar 9, 2005 7:11:17 am PST

Mmm, cookies...

I have a five-year-old nephew who couldn't be more swishy, and I'm making him the flower boy. He is ridiculously excited. I just hope his siblings don't shame him out of his excitement. I've already heard his big sister making fun of him once.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Lyra - were they behind at the start by that much? I didn't think so - I thought it was getting lost that did it for them.

I was really hoping they'd make it. Win it, actually. Now I'm pulling for J and U, with Rob and Amber next.

Also, I want to go to Botswana.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Except for wasting so much time at the wrong water tower, the brothers did run a pretty good leg. I'm curious how far behind they were, because it was pretty clear that the producers were editing the show to make it look closer than it was.

Our wings are not tired.

A note from Jeff's sister, with permission to share...

He was happy for such a quick response, and said I can go ahead and tell you what's going on.
Jeff is in Shands...almost 5 years ago he had a kidney transplant, and now they fear he may be rejecting it 'cause the kidney's not working so well.
His spirits are high, and so far we really don't know much of anything...they're collecting info, etc...don't know how long this will take or how long he'll be in...
Good news: We're blessed he's in the right place for this.
Thanks for the warm wishes!
Jodi

Thanks, Laura. For e-mailing and sharing the response (I was about to click on "send" right when I saw your post, and I'm glad I didn't - I guess Jeff's sister has enough on her hands right now).

All the possible health vibes for Jeff, and calmness to both him and his family.

He is ridiculously excited.

That's so cute! Is that the first - I'm not sure how to phrase it - close-family wedding he's going to attend?
