Hey, I can play literati with you guys this week!
Yay!! I'm sure we'll be playing tomorrow. I'll look for you here or on AIM before we start.
I should've been in bed an hour ago.

Oh, my god Alias:
I don't think I've laughed this hard at a scene of TV for a very long time. And it's about cutting out a dude's eyeballs. But they're all just so on! Think of it like a soft boiled egg. And then he finds a spork! Bah-ha-ha! I had to come post.
OK, back to watch the rest.
I forgot to share one thing from my trip up north.
You know what's a bit unsettling? Being in a rental car in the middle of the curvy section of CA-17 south and suddenly realizing, "hey all of those lights and mileage indicators and that stuff on the dash board and radio that used to be lit up aren't there anymore."
Woot! Looks like tomorrow will be the day I finally get together with the Hot Latin Guy that I've been trying to cross schedules with for more than a month now. We talked on the phone tonight, got along very well, and both of us have a free afternoon with no parental obligations later today.
Certainly takes the sting out of the mildly disastrous hook-up I had with a fellow traveller on my day trip to Nashville Wednesday. Though I suppose treating myself to dinner at the Cascades after we parted company already muted the disappointment somewhat.
In other news, it is very odd to eat lunch in a cubbyhole facing a life-size oil painting of Sheriff Bufford T. Pusser with his actual bat hanging on the wall beside it. The vibe was "Clean your plate, boy, or I'll beat the shit out of you!"
Okay, also? Internet is evil. In searching for information on Gauss's Disquisitiones Arithmeticae, I found a listing for a first edition, 1801. 38,000 pounds.
Wow, heavy book.
blah The dog threw up (at least on the tile), and one of my big house plants has mealybugs. I think I should take my coffee cup and go back to bed.
Laura, I second that motion. Can I go home from work now, too? I know it's only 9AM, but I'm really sleepy and grouchy.
Me too. For some reason, I couldn't fall asleep until about 3:30 last night, and I had to get up at 7:15 today.
Hil, I give us both permission to go home. Work. Please. Pshaw. My alarm went off at 5:45, and I actually hit it. I'm not normally that violent.
