A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister's looking for Brokeback Mountain online discussion. Narrowly headed her off at the imdb pass, trash-talked TT Ovies (for this particular flick), but have no actual suggestions -- where should she go?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Want to subject her to Ehrenstein's ranting over at WorldX? I thought the sane people were having some interesting discussions around him.

It might pay off in entertainment value, but she's already got high blood pressure.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Cesperanza's hosting some interesting discussion in her livejournal -- open to all.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Yep.

Excellent! Thanks.

My sister's been on the internet forever, but she's now getting *into* the internet. She's so cute. Wants to know if there's ever been this kind of anticipatory uproar for a movie before. Maybe for Serendipity, she suggested.. I corrected the movie title, and mentioned LotR in passing.

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

Anyone interested in the sequel to Underworld? It's coming out in a month and this is the first I've heard of it.

I didn't invest a lot in the first picture, though it was fun enough. I like the idea of there being more low(er)-budget action-adventure-type films being put out there to balance the ridiculously huge-budget blockbusters. I can't help but think the genre will stagnate if it keeps up the latter route.

Oh, and who can say it enough: Kate Beckinsdale back in the leather catsuit.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It's coming out in a month and this is the first I've heard of it.

If you'd asked, I would have told you!

Oh, and who can say it enough: Kate Beckinsdale back in the leather catsuit.

There you go. Plus, vampires and werewolves in the same movie! Fun for everyone!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Plus, vampires and werewolves in the same movie! Fun for everyone!

That's what they said about Van Helsing.
