as well as Lemmy Kilmister and Geddy Lee.
Geddy I'm not so surprised about. Rush was writing songs about Middle Earth waaaay back when.
I am absolutely tickled, on the other hand, that Lemmy is a huge Rings fan.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

In his Fresh Air interview, Steven Colbert revealed that he's not only a LoTR geek (which we already knew from TDS), but also read Fritz Leiber and Michael Moorcock and played D&D.
Just watched Bend It Like Beckham. Very cute, and very strange to see Steerpike from Gormenghast in such an opposite role. I hope Parminder Nagra gets a lot more work soon.

Apart from her ER gig? I think this is her second year.
Third or fourth, I think.
IMDB says she started in 2003, so this would be her third.
She's so teeny in person.
I came across this months ago. Colbert on D&D: [link]
Any news that mentions an enthusiatic Lemmy is good news.
There is a hi-larious easter egg on the Ringers disk of Lemmy talking about slipping acid into some journalists' food and then watching them in the parking lot hiding from their cars.
His co-conspirator? Jimi He's a godndrix.
Whee!

Saw TLtWatW tonight and enjoyed it. It didn't blow me away the way LotR did, but it was a satisfactory adaptation of the book, IMO, though I haven't read the book in probably close to twenty years, so who knows how much I've forgotten. The big battle scene was sufficiently cool (loved the griffon bombers and I thought the lead centaur dude rocked mightly) though I was disapointed that the duel between Peter and the White Witch went movie-fu, particularly the Neo backbend dodge away from the lame scissor attack. Especially since they'd just done something similar with the White Witch barely dodging the lead centaur's attack that actually looked cool a minute earlier.
Didn't realize there was a little scene in the middle of the credits though. My friends and I were just about to walk out when we noticed it.

Cool! See, I have no TV, and thus I know nothing about who is on TV. Yay for her!
