Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I seem to remember that this trailer had him gratuitously shirtless and slick -- it's nice to see themes carried over from the original.
I haven't seen clips, just trailers, and they're hyping the punchy parts a lot.
Either "Transporter 2" is wall to wall with absurd action, or it's not a sequel to "Transporter." And in fact the sequel is a better film than the original
However, I'm going to see The 40 Year Old Virgin first.
I'm very excited about Transporter 2. It looks like lots of goofy, brainless fun. Which is all I'm expecting or needing from it.
I'm going to go see 40 Year Old Virgin with some friends soon. Based on what everybody's said here, I can't wait!
I'll watch Transporter 2 with the same mindless glee with which I view Desperado. Pretty, pretty men fighting. Sometimes with guns. Antonio has the gorgeous brown hair, Jason Statham, the incredible abs.
Either way, I'm a happy girl.
40 Year Old Virgin was pretty damn funny, a steady stream of chuckles and explosive laughs. Not sidesplitting funny, but my face hurt when I left the theater. So, all in all, a good show.
I might catch Transporter 2 at a matinee this weekend sometime. I too crave the mindless fun.
Oh! I forgot: I saw the Serenity trailer FINALLY on the big screen! It gave me chills. People laughed at the appropriate moments and I heard a couple of people whisper to their movie-mates "That looks awesome." when the trailer ended.
Joss' work is so unlike anything else. 28 days.
I may have applauded a bit (very quietly, honest) after the trailer (my friend, who's seen some of the eps asked to borrow mine to catch up before the 30th), and my claps got what sounded like knowing laughter from people behind me.
I saw Knight's Tale tonight.
That was... interesting. Needed more nudity, I think. And maybe a little more Queen.
So... don't suppose there's a Chaucer slash archive out there, is there?
I saw Knight's Tale tonight.
That was (I thought) a really stupid movie. Didn't keep it from being a lot of fun, though (in my book).
Bettany's Chaucer was the best part.
